💙👏 The Helping Hand Award 👏💙 Our next staff award making its way around Catalayah is The Helping Hand Award! 🖐️ This special recognition goes to those who are always ready to lend a hand and make a difference for others. We have some amazing staff that are ready to jump in and help wherever needed at any time!!! There are so many deserving people here at Catalayah who will receive this one — we can’t wait to celebrate them all! 💫 Be sure to check back soon… we’ll be adding photos as the award gets passed along! 📸

Have you seen the newly updated Wall of Fame?! In the front lobby of Catalayah, we’ve recently replaced the pictures above the trophy case with our very own retired staff members! What a wonderful way to honor those who helped shape our school into the amazing place it is today. ❤️ These incredible educators and staff members poured their hearts into Catalayah, leaving a lasting legacy of kindness, dedication, and excellence. Boo Gram order forms went home today!!! Students can send a small mystery surprise (not candy) to a friend or teacher for $1.00. Orders are due on October 28th. We have more forms in the office if you need them!

Our 1st graders have been hard at work during WIN time (What I Need) with Mrs. Griffin, practicing their consonant blends! They’re sounding out words, building confidence, and having a blast while they learn. Way to go, first graders — and great job, Mrs. Griffin, for making learning so much fun! #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Mrs. Casey’s 2nd graders took on the Spider Web STEM Challenge! Using creativity, problem-solving, and teamwork, they designed webs strong enough to support all their spiders. What a fun way to learn through hands-on exploration! 🕷️🕸️ #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Mrs. Ratcliff’s 3rd grade art classes have been putting their teamwork and creativity to the test! Students worked together to design, draw, and plan their own colorful team projects. Mrs. Ratcliff then recreated their designs on large paper, and now students are using tiny tissue paper squares to bring their collage masterpieces to life! It’s amazing to see how teamwork can make art even more meaningful — when everyone contributes, something beautiful is created! #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

A huge thank you to Red Crown Federal Credit Union and JFarley’s for providing cheeseburger meals with all the fixin’s for our second Parent-Teacher Conference night! Everything was absolutely delicious, and we appreciate your generosity and support for our staff! #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Mrs. Ratcliff’s 3rd grade WIN (What I Need) enrichment group got hands-on and creative this week! These talented artists made textured paper that will be used in future art projects for all Catalayah students! 🖍️🖌️ Using oil pastels, paint sticks, tempera paint, and a mix of printing tools (plus some reused materials!), students explored new textures, colors, and techniques — letting loose and having fun while creating something special for others. ❤️ Way to go, 3rd graders! Your creativity is making a difference across Catalayah! #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

No weapons, props, fake blood or masks. Light face paint only, this will be at the discretion of Mrs. Shuck. Please make sure your student is able to sit at their desk with their costume on.

☀️ Ray of Sunshine Award! ☀️ We’ve started something new (and super fun!) at Catalayah! 🌟 The Ray of Sunshine Award is making its way around our staff — spreading smiles, positivity, and a little extra sunshine along the way! Here’s how it works: When you receive the award, you snap a quick selfie 📸 for the office, pick a gift from the attached bag 🎁, and pass the award on to another staff member who brightens your day! 🚀✨ Ms. Henry and Mrs. T took GT 5th graders from Catalayah and Westside to the Tulsa Regional STEM Alliance Space Day! At the Discovery Lab, Logan Jaeren taught them all about Mission Patches. After lunch at the amphitheater, the fun kicked off with exploring the museum, playing and learning. The highlight? Meeting astronaut John B. Herrington, the first enrolled citizen of a federally recognized tribe to go to space and here was born in Oklahoma! What a truly STEMtastic day! 🌟🛰️ #CPSZEBRAPRIDE
