**Staff Spotlight** Mrs. Bero, 5th grade teacher I graduated from Afton High School. After Highschool I attended Missouri Southern State University. I love seeing the satisfaction on a child's face when they figure something out they have been struggling with! I also love to make children laugh! Laughter is joy! This is my first year teaching. I have been married to my husband Josh for 14 years. Josh works at Magellan Midstream Partners as a System Analyst. We have 3 children, Bentley, Briley 9 and Brenden 7. They all attend Catalayah! We also have two fur babies, Ressa and Sophia. We love to go camping and hiking as a family. I also love to run, workout and make quilts! If I could be any book character who would I be and why? I would be Little Miss Sunshine, from the "Little Miss" Books. She always bring sunshine to other peoples day! My favorite quote is- You don't have to be great at something to start, but you have to start to be great at something.- Zig Ziglar One thing I want to do that I have never done before is- I want to take my family to the Grand Canyon and Red Wood Forrest. #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

In conjunction with the USDA Seamless Summer Program, CPS Child Nutrition Department is still serving our Grab & Go meals from 10:30A - 12:30P at 3 locations daily for students 18 & under. We will distribute through August 9 on Mondays and Thursdays. Meals are "Grab and Go" with 3 meals distributed on Mondays and 4 meals on Thursdays. The Cherokee Nation is receiving $1.8 billion in COVID-19 recovery funds as part of a historic investment in Indian Country. We at Claremore Public schools want to make sure that our students and families are aware of this. Principal Chief Chuck Hoskin Jr. and Deputy Chief Bryan Warner’s proposed spending plan for the funds will provide every Cherokee citizen with a total of $2,000 in direct relief assistance. This assistance is for EVERY Cherokee citizen with a blue tribal membership card. The Cherokee Nation will begin launching applications for its Respond, Recover and Rebuild COVID-19 assistance using FRF funds through the tribe’s online Gadugi Portal. Applications for direct assistance are expected to be online on June 1st or 2nd, but citizens are encouraged to register for the Gadugi Portal now to ease the sign-up process later. It is encouraged that everyone in the household creates a profile on the Gadugi Portal this means each citizen, yes children as well. Follow the link below to the Gadugi Portal. Weekly Reminders!

**Staff Spotlight** Mrs. Galvan I went to Broken Arrow High School. I received my Bachelors of Science in Education from NSU in Broken Arrow. I love empowering students to believe then can be better and do better in everything they do and everywhere they go. This is my 12th year in education- I was a para for 2 years and this is my 10th year to be a special education teacher. My free time is spent with my husband, daughters and brother, cycling, jamming out to music, reading and completing home improvement projects. I am fortunate to be married to an awesome man, Zandy, who works as a route driver for Hiland Dairy. We have two beautiful daughters, Kirsten, 24- a soon to be teacher and graduate from my alma mater, NSU- and Alexis, 20, a student attending Tulsa University. If I could be any book character who would it be and why? It's a toss up between Mary Poppins so I could have the power to clean and organize quickly and the Fairy God Mother from Cinderella so I could make others' dreams come true with the touch of a magical wand. Favorite quote?? I love quotes!! I have many favorites! Two favorites are: "Difficult roads often lead to beautiful destinations," by Zig Ziglar and "Enjoy the little things in life for one day you'll look back and realize they were the big things." One thing I want to do that I have never done before- I'm not much for traveling, but one day I'd like to take a cruise- an Alaskan cruise would be nice! My favorite place to be is home! I love, love, love to stay home! #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Mrs. Brassfield's 3rd grade class made dodecahedrons for their animal research project. They had to select an animal of their choice. Then, they had to research animal description, habitat, diet, predators, prey, young, life cycle, etc. These turned out so great! #CPSZEBRAPRIDE
