Ms. Toops' 4th grade math class got to enjoy a hands on activity last week. The students are in groups to find their dog, Sparky from the haunted house.  Lots of math and figuring out info!! Oh my! #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

We had an exciting announcement this morning at Rise and Shine..... Ms. Toops is Catalayah Teacher of the Year!!!! She has been teaching for 21 years, 11 of those here at Catalayah!! We are so proud of you Ms. Toops!!!! #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Our students are having a blast in computers class! It’s fun to see them mastering the use of a mouse instead of a finger or stylus. Starting as early as kindergarten, they’re even learning how to type using the home row keys! After completing their typing lessons they get to play a game! A big shoutout to Mrs. Sargent for her hard work in teaching them proper typing skills! #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

We stopped by Art to see what Mrs. Coffey had going on in there. Look how much fun they were having. They were using the light box, doing some sketch art and even making some God's eyes. #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

We love it when the High School Baseball boys come visit!!! They were here this morning greeting staff and students as they entered the building!!! They even came to Rise and Shine and danced with everyone! Thanks Claremore Zebra Baseball!! #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Mrs. T's GT class participated in the Potato Olympics. They designed uniforms for their potato athletes, drafted statistics sheets, competed in several events, and will use scoring to complete arithmetic lessons. Events included: long jump, hurdles, weight lifting, sprints, and break dancing #CPSZEBRARIDE

Ms. Toops' class had the cutest Rise and Shine showcase. The students all had pictures of staff members on their shirts and they took each of them a rose and told every single staff member how much they are appreciated. It was so sweet and everyone really enjoyed the nice surprise!!! Thanks Ms. Toops and class! #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Mrs. Basks had the super cute idea for shout out graffiti in the workroom!!!! Grab a marker and shout out a staff member that has been rocking it! It's such a nice surprise to walk through there and see your name on the wall. Thanks Mrs. Basks, great idea! #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

🚒🔥*Fire Safety Day at Catalayah!* 🔥🚒 Today, we had an exciting visit from the Claremore Fire Department! They gave an amazing presentation on fire safety, brought their awesome inflatable house, and showcased a few of their impressive trucks. 🚒 Ask your kids about what they learned—it was packed with essential tips! They discussed the importance of smoke alarms, what to do when one goes off, and taught the classic "Stop, Drop, and Roll" technique for clothing fires. They also introduced the concept of a safety spot—a safe place to meet outside in case of a fire at home. Many of our students were learning some of these life-saving tips for the first time! These are valuable conversations to continue at home. Thank you, Claremore Fire Dept, for an unforgettable day and for helping keep our kids safe! ❤️ #CPSZEBRAPRIDE
