**Staff Spotlight** Mrs. Galvan I went to Broken Arrow High School. I received my Bachelors of Science in Education from NSU in Broken Arrow. I love empowering students to believe then can be better and do better in everything they do and everywhere they go. This is my 12th year in education- I was a para for 2 years and this is my 10th year to be a special education teacher. My free time is spent with my husband, daughters and brother, cycling, jamming out to music, reading and completing home improvement projects. I am fortunate to be married to an awesome man, Zandy, who works as a route driver for Hiland Dairy. We have two beautiful daughters, Kirsten, 24- a soon to be teacher and graduate from my alma mater, NSU- and Alexis, 20, a student attending Tulsa University. If I could be any book character who would it be and why? It's a toss up between Mary Poppins so I could have the power to clean and organize quickly and the Fairy God Mother from Cinderella so I could make others' dreams come true with the touch of a magical wand. Favorite quote?? I love quotes!! I have many favorites! Two favorites are: "Difficult roads often lead to beautiful destinations," by Zig Ziglar and "Enjoy the little things in life for one day you'll look back and realize they were the big things." One thing I want to do that I have never done before- I'm not much for traveling, but one day I'd like to take a cruise- an Alaskan cruise would be nice! My favorite place to be is home! I love, love, love to stay home! #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

The second Friday in May is #schoolprday, also called National School Communicators Day. A day where schools recognize the work behind the scenes of those who tell our school's story, share celebrations, and keep us informed. Yesterday we celebrated the team behind the communications curtin. Our Communications Specialists or as some often refer to them, "the Facebook lady" or "the website lady" or because they play many roles at their site it could be the "front desk lady", the "library lady", the "camera lady"... you get the picture (see what I did there?). As a team, we want to thank all of our Claremore Public School staff, students, and community, for sharing their #CPSZEBRAPRIDE through excellent pictures, updates, and content. For without you, there wouldn't be a story to tell. 📷Jamie Brace - District / CHS 📷Vanessa Mudd - Roosa 📷Ashley Troyer - Claremont 📷Rachel Salcido - Catalayah 📷Sayre Whitaker - Westside (not pictured) 📷Melissa Jauquet - WRJH (not pictured) Thank you, ladies, for everything you do to connect, communicate, celebrate, and create a partnership with our CPS families and the community.

What is a modern-day school librarian? At CPS they are media specialists, teachers, hope givers, a safe haven, the IT help desk, and more. Three of our district media specialists tell us more about themselves and their craft. ▶ https://youtu.be/syYlGGJh1Ac

#CPSTechTipTuesday will demonstrate how to convert an Adobe PDF document to an editable Microsoft Word document. PDF documents are great for sending files to individuals and keeping the formatting consistent. However, a downfall is that you cannot edit the file. Using Microsoft Word, you can open a PDF document and edit it as needed. #CPSZEBRAPRIDE ▶ https://youtu.be/-AH6yWXx6oI

**Staff Spotlight** Ms. McCracken, 5th grade teacher I went to High School at Caney Valley in Ramona, OK. After High School I went to college at Roger's State University and Cameron University. It's amazing how creative and unique my students are, and the questions they ask blow me away. I love encouraging them to learn, explore and grow as human beings. I have been teaching for 5 years, all at Catalayah. My first four years in 2nd grade, and this year I started as a virtual teacher before moving to 5th grade at the end of September. In my free time I like to bake cookies, hike, kayak, play video games, and do any kind of craft. I met my fiance', Chris, in 2012 and we have been engaged for almost a year. He works for Reasor's as an assistant manager. If I was a book character I would want to be Samwise Gamgee from The Lord of the Rings because he is an amazing friend and encourager. My favorite quote is "There's some good in the world, Mr. Frodo, and it's worth fighting for."- J.R.R. Tolkein One thing I would like to do that I have never done before is I would love to explore New Zealand and see all the amazing sites there- especially The Shire! I have really developed a love for yoga during the pandemic. It helped me stay sane and motivated when we had to end the school year early last year, and now I can't stop! #CPSZEBRAPRIDE
