Our 5th graders got to attend BizTown this week!!
JA BizTown combines in-class learning with a day-long visit to a simulated town. This popular learning experience allows elementary school students to operate banks, manage restaurants, write checks, and vote for mayor.
Biztown is something the students prepare for and learn about for weeks before they get to go. They have to apply for their job, go through the interview process, the students that run for Mayor have a chance to give their speeches and the rest of the 5th grade votes for Mayor.
It is such fun experience for the students. We appreciate all the parent volunteers that came to help.

Ms. Henry and her after school STEM club have been working on programming their robots. They have been using Ozobots and their online program. Ms Henry wrote a grant for them last Fall and it was fully funded by the CPSF!

Wednesday the 13th is going to be our only Ice Cream Day this month.
Students can purchase Ice Cream in the cafeteria after they finish their lunch. Ice Cream is $1.00.

While you are out shopping this weekend remember our food drive. Items are due the 13th. Our goal for the food drive it to stock the pantries for about 20 Catalayah families for the long Holiday break.
We are also having a contest with food drive items. The 2 classes (1 east wing, 1 west wing) that collect the most items will receive a popcorn and movie party!!

I have attached a list of items needed. You can send items with your student or bring them to the office. The last day to bring items is December 13.

We had two participants in the Rogers County Hoop Shoot this past weekend.
Griffin and Ethan did a great job representing Catalayah!! They both brought home a trophy!
