CPS school sites and central office will be closed on Monday, January 15th, in honor of the Martin Luther King holiday.
As we approach the Martin Luther King holiday, let us remember his words: “Life’s most persistent and urgent question is, 'What are you doing for others?' ” Volunteering your time, money, or energy to help others not only makes the world a better place, but it also enhances your own life. Here are some benefits of helping others:
✋🏾 Helping others can help you live longer.
✋🏽 Altruism is contagious.
✋🏼 Helping others makes us happy.
✋🏻 Helping others promotes positive behaviors.
✋ Helping others gives us a sense of purpose and satisfaction.
How do you serve others?

It's important to ensure that our families are prepared for winter weather as we prepare to return to school. To help with this, we have compiled a list of frequently asked questions about winter weather and school. These include questions such as how and when we will be notified about any weather-related changes to school schedules. For more information, visit https://www.claremore.k12.ok.us/article/643291.

Mrs. Griffin took her 1st grade WIN groups around the world to find out how different countries celebrate the holidays.
They visited Mexico, Brazil, England, France, Germany, Ethiopia, Kenya, China, and Australia. They all got their passports stamped when "visiting" each country, and made notes in their scrapbook. At the end of their unit, they talked about how they celebrate at their homes. Then they talked about how people are a lot alike throughout the world! The kids enjoyed this lesson, but Mrs. Griffin says she learned so much as well.
For their activities, Mrs. Griffin had the kids design clothing for Santa to wear in Australia...he changes his clothes when he gets there because it is summer! And in Kenya, they decorate with paper decorations and balloons. Kids said "like a birthday party!" So they made paper decorations. They also made Christmas Crackers when studying England.

If you were an Elf at the North Pole what would your job be?!???

Mrs. Roller's class spent some time planning and designing an Elf trap after we read "How to Catch an Elf."
They actually built it and they caught Mrs. Ward's class elf, Cristina!! Our Elf was listening while they built so he didn't get tricked!
