🦓❤️ Catalayah has heart from stripes to stripes! ❤️🦓 Since the very first days of school, Mrs. Ratcliff has been leading our Zebras in a building-wide art project. Pre-K through 5th grade students and staff each created their own one-of-a-kind heart using their unique creativity. 🎨✨ That’s over 500 hearts that came together to form one BIG Catalayah masterpiece! 🖼️💕 A huge thank you to Mrs. Ratcliff for bringing us all together and making Catalayah a place full of creativity, color, and love! 🦓💖 #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Expectation #4: We will cheer each other to success! 🥳 If your student visits the library this week, not only did they get to check out their first book, they competed in their first library challenge-Rock, Paper, Scissors, Shoot! Single elimination tournament where a school wide champion will be crowned at Rise and Shine once each class has competed. 🪨📃✂️💥 #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

📢 As we wrap up our second week of school, here are a few quick reminders to help mornings run smoothly:

🚪 Doors open at 7:25 AM.
⏰ East doors close at 7:50 AM.

🚗 At the east drop-off line:

If you’re next to the sidewalk, your child may safely exit the car.

If you’re not against the sidewalk, please wait until you reach the crosswalk to let your child out.

📝 After 7:50 AM, students must be signed in at the office by a parent/guardian.

🚨🐛 Oh no!!! Fred the Worm was in trouble!!! His boat capsized and his life preserver was stuck underneath. Luckily, Mrs. Ritter’s 5th graders came to the rescue! Using only paperclips, teams worked together to Save Fred—and they did an AMAZING job! 🙌 We love how this lesson builds teamwork, problem-solving, and plenty of giggles. Way to go, 5th grade! #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Mrs. Douthitt’s kindergarteners had a magical time playing the Magic Triad game! This fun activity helps our youngest learners practice using kind words, good manners, and showing respect to others. 🌟 We love seeing big lessons taught in playful ways—these kiddos are already shining bright in kindergarten! Along with the triad game they also enjoyed exploring the classroom centers. #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

📏 Mrs. Ritter’s 5th grade math students have already been hard at work! They kicked things off by using yardsticks and meter sticks to measure just how tall 5th graders really are.
