The Board of Education approved a new 22-23 academic calendar on Monday. There are a few changes you might want to note. 📅 Fall Break was moved up a week to Oct. 13 & 14, 2022 📅 Graduation was set for May 21, 2023 #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Mr. J received some cool new toys for music!! Our Art and Music Dept received a generous donation from Mr. Frank Robinson. Mr. J and Mrs. Coffey were able to purchase some really cool new items for the art and music classes. Up first is the Steel Drum Lead Pan that Mr. J purchased for the music room!! The steel pan, often referred to incorrectly as a steel drum, emerged in the 1930s. Metal objects including car parts, paint pots, dustbins, oil drums and biscuit tins, were originally used as percussion instruments, but at some point they began to be tuned. Scientists are discovering that steel drums, the funky Caribbean folk instruments made out of oil drums and struck by twin mallets, produce a surprisingly rich array of harmonic overtones and couplings between notes that fuse to form haunting sounds fast catching on around the world. The students really enjoyed this new instrument. Stay tuned to see what else they purchased!! #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Mrs. Coffey was asked to decorate 3 stepping stones for the Teaching Garden over by RSU. Each Elementary school in Claremore decorated 3 to be on display for everyone to enjoy. Look how great they turned out!!!! They will be on display soon. Make sure you stop by and check them out. #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

We had such a great time honoring these 4 at their Retirement Party this week. With a combination of 116 years of teaching, to say these 4 will be missed is a major understatement. Did your kiddos have any of these wonderful teachers??? If so, help them tell us their favorite memory with them. Happy Mother's Day to all our "moms." Our birth moms, adoptive moms, step-moms, and bonus moms. To our Aunt moms, sister moms, Grandmoms, single Dad moms, and surrogate moms. To our work moms, cheer moms, dance moms, sports moms, PTO moms, homeroom moms, teacher moms, and school moms. Happy Mother's Day to whoever makes up your "mom"tourage, all of them play an essential role in nurturing, raising, and supporting the children in our community. Our PTO has struck again. Today they delivered goody bags with candy, gift cards, and other treats to every staff memeber!! We also had a very sweet family that brought our staff the most delicious egg rolls this morning. OMG!!! They were sooooo good!! Thank you to all our wonderful parents and friends that have spoiled us this week!! It is so much appreciated. #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

1st graders went on their first ever field trip today!!!!! They were all so excited!! They got to ride the bus too!! I can’t wait to hear about all the fun they are going to have today! #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Teacher Appreciation Week continues!!! Today is special, two of our retired Catalayah teachers set their alarms and brought us bagels and juice. Thank you Mrs. Townsend and Mrs. Seidel. The District Teacher of the Year Celebration was last week. The reception recognized our Site Teacher of the Year, Mrs. Coffey and all other site recipients and announced the 22-23 District Teacher of the Year. Mrs. Ward, Mrs. Shuck and Mrs. Stolusky enjoyed joining Mrs. Coffey for the reception!! Congrats to Rachel Fulks from Claremont for being named District Teacher of the Year. #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Claremore Public School Foundation Grant Patrol came to visit us this morning!!! They were able to award 2 of our teachers with the funds for the grants they applied for.
