I stopped by PE last week. Mr. Hughes was teaching these second graders about push ups, sit ups, stretching and they even said their PE Creed for me!! They wanted to show off some of their cool moves too! 😂 #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Homecoming in Claremore is the best!!!! We all enjoyed the Homecoming Tour today! What a fun time for Claremore students and staff!! Not to mention the Prince and Princess are Catalayah Students!!!!! #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Mrs. Maxville and her 5th grade Science classes did a lab over States of Matter. The students mixed cornstarch and water and observed that the "goop" has properties of both a solid and a liquid. The kids enjoyed the hands on lesson!! #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

For the past two weeks in Friday Float Mr. Elliott's Explorers have been learning about buildings and tall towers. How in the world are those big buildings able to stand up so big and tall without tipping over, but trash cans and trampolines can blow over so easily on a really windy day? Well we started to answer those questions. A sturdy base is important with building blocks we found out! Great STEM and team building activity! The teamwork was great to watch! Mrs. Cole's Pre-K class started their apple unit last week and their focus has been on learning the letter C, working on cutting skills and spelling their names. They enjoyed an apple tasting last Thursday and graphed their favorite apples. This week they will try a few apple foods and graph our favorites. 🍎 🍏 #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

It's National IT Day. We are so lucky to have Mrs. Story in our building, helping kids with their devices everyday!!! I don't have a picture of all of them but our IT dept at Central office is THE BEST!!! They help our teachers and staff with every kind of tech questions and problems you could imagine. The Bless the Teachers Ministry at Claremore Assembly of God sure BLESSED our teachers last week with lunch and dessert! We had the sweetest ladies that came and made sure everyone had a nice HOT meal, along with chips to take for later and the most delicious desserts!!! Thank you, Claremore Assembly of God. Mrs. Roller’s class enjoyed moving around the class for their writing assignment. They worked on describing characters and writing words they can find around their classroom. 😀 #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Constitution Day is September 17th (tomorrow). This morning at Rise and Shine our 5th graders performed a special song!! Constitution Day is an American holiday honoring the day 39 delegates to the Constitutional Convention signed the United States Constitution. This historic date was September 17, 1787. #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Ms. Henry’s 3rd grade class enjoyed their library time this week!! Students were asked to get in line after checking out books since there was another class coming after them. Once they got in line, one after the other they opened their books and started reading. It made their teacher very happy to see her students ready to read without being told or asked. 📚 #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Look at what Mrs. Wards 1st grade class has been doing- We’ve been talking about occupations this month and nobody works harder than our sweet custodian, Lydia! Everyone in the class thought of an adjective to describe her and we posted them on her door. They also filled a bucket with extra snacks we’ve collected because they said she’s probably hungry after walking all over our school cleaning! 🥰 Lydia loved it!!
