Did you know?? Children struggle with positive self-esteem and body-image much like adults do. Mrs. Miles' 3rd-5th grade GT students had fun applying what they learned about oil derricks, from an OERB video, and putting it to the test by creating their own derricks. They could only use straws, paper clips, and tape, that they had to 'purchase' using future profits. Then each tower was assessed to see how much weight it could hold in grams. The challenge was to see which groups' oil derrick turned the most profit, after the costs of supplies. Here you can see the 3rd/4th grade groups and their derricks. #CPSZEBRAPRIDE
