Every week, each class gets a chance to win the "Music Class Championship Belt" from Mr. Levesque.
Students have the opportunity to win this belt for the week by following procedures and participating in Music class! Our Westies get excited for this belt and so far, Mr. Cook's 5th grade class has won, and Ms. Pilant's 3rd graders have won! 🥇 🎼

Students across Westside are diving into the joy of reading. Did you know that reading for just 6 minutes a day can reduce stress by up to 68%? Take some time to read with your students today and this week! 📚📖

It’s game day for the big Claremore Zebras!! 🦓❤️🏈🥁📣

Mrs. Lyons has begun visiting classes to share with students what her role here at Westside is. Students were engaging by answering questions and learning all about our wonderful school counselor and the resources she offers! 📓✏️

You know it’s a good start to your day when your dad, Trooper Cissne, gets to open your door in the car line.
We always appreciate how Trooper Cissne helps greet students with a safe, helpful smile each week at Westside!

Breakfast & lunch menu for September 2024 🥗 🍳 🥛

REMINDER - In honor of the Labor Day holiday, CPS will be closed on Monday, September 2nd.
"Before the reward, there must be labor. You plant before you harvest. You sow in tears before you reap joy." Ralph Ransom
Labor Day pays tribute to the contributions and achievements of American workers. The labor movement created it in the late 19th century, and it became a federal holiday in 1894.
This weekend, as we spend time with our families and friends, celebrate the value of an honest day's work, the people who built America, and our nation's advancements because of the American labor force.

Ms. Palmer and her third graders brainstormed ways to work through problems and expected behaviors during the school year and in real life scenarios. We love to see our Westie's setting the example!

Cooking with Classen 🍪
The first week back to school, Mrs. Classes's class read "The Kissing Hand" which is a book about Chester the Raccoon missing his parents at the beginning of the school year, and encourages students to be courageous and open to trying new things.
When her class finished this project, they all got to make sugar cookie hands with chocolate kisses in the middle.
