🌞 Today was our Summer Celebration, and we want to give a HUGE thank you to the ladies that made it all possible. Our Westside PTO team are a force to be reckoned with, making our Summer Celebration a true blast! 🎉
Don't worry, more photos of the amazing day are coming! 📸❤️

While exploring the vibrant hues of spring, Ms. Liz's kindergarteners went on a creative journey during their spring lesson! 🎨 Using simple materials like cardboard rolls, colored popsicle sticks, and transparent colored paper, they crafted beautiful butterfly sun catchers that danced with light and color. 🌈☀️
Check out these photos of them testing out their creations! 🌞🌈🦋

The CPS District offices are closed on Monday. Have a safe Memorial Day.
It's important to tell the stories of those who are not here to tell their story. Join us in remembering and honoring those who have sacrificed their lives for this country.
Who are you honoring today?

Our second graders had a "splashing" good time on their end-of-the-year field trip to the aquarium. 🐙🐬
Check out these photos of them exploring the aquatic life on their Aquarium adventure!

After spending her time organizing testing schedules, and spending many, many hours making sure state testing ran smoothly, our school counselor Mrs. Lyons is back in the classroom. 📚 🍎
Mrs. Sagely and Ms. Palmers class worked with Mrs. Lyons on the concept of Locus of Control. Students identified things that are in and out of their control while working in small groups. 📄✏

In honor of our recent recognition of Music in Education Week, we want to shout out Mr. Levesque and his engaging music class. Students learn about beats and rhythm, the ABC's of music, and so much more. 🎶✨
Did you know? Learning music doesn't just sound fun—it's super brain-boosting too! Studies show that kids who study music tend to have better memory, concentration, and even math skills! So when you're rocking out in Mr. Levesque's class, you're not just making sweet melodies, you're supercharging your brainpower too! 🧠🎸

Kindergarteners at it again with their green thumbs! 🌞💧
Learning about plant growth, they crafted adorable little houses complete with grass fronts.🌱🏡 With seeds, soil, water, and sunshine, their mini homes sprouted lush greenery! 🌿🌼

Happy National School Speech Pathologist Day! 🎤📚
Today we recognize Ms. Gilbreath & Ms. James; your expertise helps students find their voices and overcome communication barriers. Thank you for empowering young minds and shaping confident futures!

This week, our pre-K students took a big step forward as they graduated from pre-K and are now ready to tackle kindergarten! 🌟 Throughout their journey, they've soaked up essential skills, from mastering the alphabet to honing their social skills. 📚👫
Congratulations to our young Zebras on this remarkable achievement! 🦓❤️ Let's give them a round of applause as they are ready for their next adventure! 🎉🎓 🍎

Westside's students are racking up those Zebra Bucks and cashing them in for some serious fun! 🎉
Ms. Brown's second graders opted for show and tell, flaunting their bling and sharing stories. Who said learning can't be glamorous? 🦓💰

LAST snack cart of the school year tomorrow! 🍪🥤

Our Westside Honor Choir had the distinguished honor to sing the National Anthem at the Tulsa Drillers Baseball game today! Wow!!
We could not be any more proud of their hard work & Mr. Levesque’s leadership in this amazing moment. Amazing job to our Honor Choir, you knocked it out of the park!! ⚾️🎶🦓

Westside Summer Celebration is coming up in a week! Westside students will be able to enjoy water inflatables, games, and sno cones from Patsy's Sno Cones on May 22nd! 🍧🍧💦💦 Students will not be changing clothes and will have time to dry off after the water inflatables when they play games outdoors. Students are encouraged to bring a towel to assist the drying off. Sunscreen is also encouraged. All students are expected to wear dark colored shirts and shorts that can get wet from the water inflatables. Swimsuits may be worn underneath the shirt and shorts if desired, but all students must wear their dark colored shirt and shorts at all times. There is a suggested $4.00 donation for each student to help offset costs, but this donation is not required to participate. Thank you for your support of Westside!

Ms. Lang created an unforgettable adventure for her students in the library at Westside! During "camping week" students got to experience the great outdoors without leaving the comfort of their favorite reading spot. The library was transformed into a cozy campsite, complete with tents and flashlights. 🏞️🌲🔦

Mrs. Stone’s 3rd graders are really DIGGING into science. These young paleontologists are practicing digging up dinosaur bones 🦕🦴(chocolate chips) from the ground (the cookie 🍪).
The students drew out their specimen ✏️, then used their tools (toothpicks & toothbrushes) to carefully extract the “bones.” What a fun & yummy way to learn all about paleontology, bone extraction & science! Keep it up 3rd grade science stars, we love it!

Last week, our awesome partner in education BancFirst, fed our Westside team some yummy Chick-fil-A. It’s always a fan favorite & our staff was so grateful! Thank you BancFirst for your continued support. 🤝❤️🦓

Recently, Ms. Taber was caught going above and beyond to build relationships with her students. Building relationships isn't just about what is taught in textbooks; it's about the moments shared outside the classroom too. 🍽️
Kudos to Ms. Taber for fostering connections that go beyond the syllabus! 🍎📚

It’s National School Communicators Day & we want to celebrate our social media superstar, Mrs. Lauren Hamilton! 🦓🤩💻
Not only does Mrs. Hamilton work as an instructional assistant - working side by side with our teachers & students every single day - she also helps keep our families, community & school connected through social media. Thank you for all the extra hours & hard work telling our story Mrs. Hamilton! We are so grateful for everything you do at Westside! ❤️🦓💪🏽#SchoolPRDay
