Fourth grade students honor Black History Month as they listen to and play music by famous jazz artists like Duke Ellington and Louis Armstrong. Mrs. Gaylord assists students in using boom sticks to follow the beats. Great work, Westside students!

Happy National Counselor's Week! Westside's incredible counselor, Mrs. Lyons, teaches lessons focusing on various social and emotional topics to all classes. She recently joined Mrs. Collins' second grade students, teaching them how to give and receive apologies appropriately. Mrs. Lyons' is so valued and builds a positive infrastructure that allows students to learn at high levels. If you see Mrs. Lyons, please tell her how appreciated she is!

Running Club continues this week!


The Oklahoma Caring Van will provide FREE immunizations for children at the Claremore enrollment center March 21st & 23rd from 10a - 12p.
A parent/guardian must complete the required paperwork. Services will be provided to children who are uninsured, Medicaid eligible, or American Indian.

Tranquillite Spa in Claremore joined in the recognition by donating massage certificates to our hard-working staff. Weside classes each have a "Westie Bestie" partner class. These Westie Besties support and help one another throughout the school year. Ms. Palmer’s 4th grade students paid Zebra bucks to join centers with their Westie Besties, Ms. Pilant's class. Students of all grade levels love the opportunity to help and interact with their peers.

Snowball fight! Mrs. Campbell's class had a sight word snowball fight. Each paper snowball had a sight word on it. Students would throw and gather paper snowballs to practice reading their words. What a wonderful and exciting way to practice reading!
