How Sick Is Too Sick For School? Tis the season in Oklahoma - sniffling, sneezing, coughing, headache, fever, tummy aches, nausea, etc. We miss our students when absent, but sometimes they need to recover at home; how do you make that decision? CPS encourages following the Oklahoma State Department of Health guidelines. These guidelines will help the child recover and protect against the spread of illnesses to other students and staff. Remember, students/staff should only return to school after being fever-free, vomiting or diarrhea-free for 24 hours without medication. Mr. Daniel's students are working diligently on a collaborative project, where they have chosen a specific state to research alongside their partner. Each team has selected a state and will be learning about its history and geography to prepare a class presentation. We're so proud to have Mr. Lyles, one of our very own junior high teachers, as a published children's book author! And if that's not exciting enough, his book 'Adore's First Day of School' even features our art teacher, Mrs. Breen, as a character! They recently visited one of our elementary schools to read and talk about the books. How cool is that? Art 3 students are putting the final touches on their first set of murals, and they're already gearing up for their next project which will be in our gym! The students have been hard at work, interviewing staff and presenting their rough drafts to ensure their creations will be truly unique and special. 🎷🎺🎶 Our band students had an incredible opportunity to witness the magic of the OSU jazz ensemble live in action! Thank you to OSU for performing for our students and inspiring them to further develop their musical skills and appreciation for jazz! Mr. Borntreger's math class is digging deep into real-life data analysis! Students explored the relationship between sleep and screen time by creating scatter plots to investigate if there's a correlation between hours of sleep and time spent on phones. Their preliminary findings suggest that more data is needed to determine a definite connection. Good job to our young mathematicians for applying their problem-solving skills to real-world situations! #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

🏀PLAYER OF THE WEEK🏀 The Player of the Week goes to Nathan LaPlant. Nathan had 6 huge points in the 4th quarter to help the Zebras overcome a 9 point deficit to start the 4th quarter to the Collinsville Cardinals.
