Our 6th grade science classes are beginning their human body systems unit, so a lesson with microscopes is a must! They start with onion cells, cheek cells and pond water. A microscope can open up a whole new world of crazy things, such as tiny organisms and structures aren't seen with the naked eye! Onion cells, cheek cells, and pond water all contain microorganisms that are fun to explore and learn about. Students looking at things today were a little freaked out at this find! YIKES!

Our WRJH TSA students attended the TSA Regional Competition at NEO and guess what... THEY WON 2ND PLACE!🏆
Some of our TSA students attended the Technology Student Association Regional Conference: "Learning to Lead in a Technical World" at NEO. The students take a parliamentary procedure test to qualify for the semifinal round of competition. Semifinalists conduct an opening ceremony, items of business, parliamentary actions, and a closing ceremony. 6th grade students also attended and got to see how the competition works. We know they will be winning when they compete next year!
Way to go TSA! We can't wait to see what the future holds for these young engineers!

After a long week of testing, we c•e•l•e•b•r•a•t•e! Hooray for Mrs. Bacon's English students! After conquering the four state tests in English concepts, they enjoyed a well-deserved party filled with fun games like Boggle, Connect Four, Battleship, and Who's That? They also go to enjoy their favorite snacks. We're so proud of their hard work, perseverance, and success! Way to go!

Mrs. Highley's WIN class had a slam poetry competition. That sounds like an awesome and engaging way to get students excited about writing and performing! Slam poetry is a powerful form of expression that allows students to share their unique voices and perspectives on a variety of topics. It can be a great way to build confidence and public speaking skills too.
We hope Coach Dexter's class picked the right winner! I'm sure it was a tough competition!

Our 8th grade science classes made DNA out of Twizzlers and Gummy Bears or marshmallows! The double helix structure is represented with the Twizzlers and the different colors of Gummy Bears represent the four DNA bases! It's a fun (and tasty!) way to learn about DNA structure!

🌳🌴🌳Claremore Public Schools is gearing up for Spring Break, March 18th - 22nd. Our halls are filled with anticipation for the coming week of relaxation, fun, and, hopefully, great spring weather.
📸If you are going on a vacation or staycation, remember to wear your Zebra gear and take a photo for our #ZebraTravelDiaries. It's not about where you go; it's about WEARING YOUR ZEBRA GEAR when you are there!
Send your photo in your Zebra gear, name, school, and where you are to jbrace@claremore.k12.ok.us, and we’ll post it.

High School Physical Science students went on an exciting journey of discovery as they experimented with different colors of light. With their 'laser fingers', they used the colors to make white light and see the interactions of the different wavelengths! It was a captivating experience that not only sparked their curiosity but also illuminated (pun intended!) the principles of light and color in a hands-on and engaging way.
Laser fingers are fun!

Mrs. Hammack's class is not only getting some exercise and sunshine by walking to the Claremore Public Library, but they're also exploring the magical world of books and the joy of reading! Plus, going to the library as a class gives students a chance to to connect with each other over books, share stories, and even engage in friendly competition to see who can read the most books!

Mrs. Williams class is working on a unit about the earth’s orbit and how this relates to leap year. They made a sundial as a reinforcement activity demonstrating that the earth is continuously turning on its axis. What a fun and interactive way to learn about the earth's orbit and leap year! Making a sundial is a great hands-on activity that helps students understand the concept of the earth's rotation on its axis and how it relates to the passage of time. It's also a creative way to demonstrate the practical applications of science and math in the real world!
And it's lots of fun!

The purpose of MIOSM is to raise awareness of the importance of music education for all children – and to remind citizens that school is where all children should have access to music.
We will celebrate music all month long with photos and videos of our fabulous band and choir students showcasing their amazing talent!
