🔬WOMEN IN SCIENCE🔬
Students joined Mrs. Rahn for a day filled with Science! The Women in Science day at the Oklahoma Science Museum in OKC is geared toward getting girls involved and interested in Science! These students were chosen to go based on teacher recommendations. Mrs. Rahn also won a $2,000 grant from Women’s Energy Network to go toward our Girls’ STEM Program! What a great day!

How do you learn about heat transfer? COOKING! Students in Mrs. Boyd's Science classes are cooking up s'mores! They create their solar ovens by using all types of boxes- pizza, shoe, candy or anything else they can find. They use aluminum inside where the s'more actually cooks and the sun to heat them. I can testify that they are good cooks! Yum! 🍳

It's {almost} baseball time! Tryouts for the WRJH baseball team will be Thursday, Nov. 2 at 7:30am at the baseball dome.

⚾want to catch? bring your catcher gear if you have it⚾
We will have 25-30 players for this spring's baseball season! If you make the team, there will be a parent meeting on Nov. 9th in the WRJH library at 7:30am.

Is your student ready to tour a college?! We think so! Our 7th grade students will be touring Tulsa Community College (TCC) this week. Half of our students will tour on Nov. 1st and the other half will go Nov. 2nd. The students will be departing the school at 9:00am and scheduled to return to the school around noon. Lunch will be provided for the 7th graders the day of the tour.

It's SpOoKy season! Dr. Young's 8th grade English students read all about superstitions on Friday the 13th! They made the most of it, scary or not, by reading café style with “newspaper” handouts and donuts!

Key Choices, part of Operation Prevention, visited our 7th grade students to talk about drug addiction, and the negative impact opioid abuse can have on the brain. This program is offered throughout the United States.
