
What do aluminum foil boats and computers have in common? Problem solving. In Mrs. Tietz's class, students made aluminum boats and tried to see who could get the most pennies in their boat. We problem solved a way to make it better with partners. Then talked about how problem solving relates to computers.

Starting this week, 7th and 8th grade basketball players will be practicing at WRJH on Tuesday and Friday. Players will need to be dropped off at WRJH on those days. Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday will be conditioning at the Strength and Conditioning Center at CHS.

WRJH Football Players of the Week are- Taydem Cape and Cannon Miller!
Taydem had a great defensive game with multiple tackles and a 60 yard scoop and score. He also had multiple catches on the offensive end to help lead the zebras to a 24-6 victory over the Skiatook Bulldogs!
Cannon Miller had a strong defensive performance in a hard fought game for the 8th grade team. He had multiple tackles and a forced fumble!

Roll the dice🎲►►tell a story😮!
Students in Mrs. Wiley's 6th grade English class rolled the dice to determine the character, time, setting, and conflict of the story. Then they used a writing organizer to put together the pieces of their story.

In Mrs. Counterman's 6th grade Math class, students are answering questions about growth mindset and coloring pieces of a puzzle of a brain they had to assemble by working together.

Maps are more than just an app on our phones! In Mrs. Sublett's class, students are doing a map sketch of the classroom while learning about the different parts of maps.

Journaling is very important in school. Students in Mr. Pille's Geography class are journaling their lesson. This helps the student retain the information to better understand and learn about the assignment.

How do you become a good teammate?
Students in Mrs. Bart's 6th grade math classes spent their first few days of school working in teams to complete a variety of tasks. Students then brainstormed and constructed a list of characteristics they believe describe a good teammate. This list will be used as their group work expectations throughout the year.

“See, Think, Wonder”
Mrs. Rahn’s students are learning & practicing thinking strategies to use throughout the year. They used it today with an Object-Based Learning Lesson:
Each student brought an artifact from home and students had to write a description of someone else’s artifact then guess who it belonged to.

Students in Mrs. Boyd's classes are learning about qualitative and quantitative observations with pretzels and twizzlers. Quantitative data is numbers, something you can be counted. Qualitative data is describing something or relating to language.

How l o n g can you make a piece of paper? This is not a trick question! Students in Mrs. Hammack's class competed to see who can make the longest continuous piece of paper! Each student got a sheet of paper and scissors. Some pieces went across the room!

WRJH Football Players of the Week for the FIRST week are Devin Kinnard and Seth Bacon!
Devin Kinnard recorded 2 touchdowns on the night, a 50 yard TD reception and also a 60 yard TD reception! He also had an interception with 2 sacks on defense!
Seth Bacon played an excellent game at the Outside Linebacker spot flying around and making multiple key tackles. He also was instrumental on a punt return for a touchdown opening up the rest of the field for Braylen Walker. It was a 28-23 win for the Zebras against Catoosa!
