Mrs. Rahn got her book, "Never Panic Early", autographed by author and astronaut Fred Haise. He is an Apollo 13 astronaut who graduated from OU. When asked how to better prepare our students for careers in STEM he said teach them teamwork, problem solving skills and critical thinking!

What is a handprint project? Ask a student from Mrs. Mercer's class!
Students created borders and handprint designs using repetition. The students learned about stream of consciousness writing, where the writer writes whatever comes to mind in any order. This is a writing technique that is used to brainstorm ideas and get them on paper before writing. Students used this style to fill in the empty spaces with information about themselves!
It was such a fun and creative project!
