Who doesn't love baby chicks?🐥
Students hatched chicks in Mrs. Simmonds' classroom as an introduction to cells and body systems and learned about the characteristics of a living thing. So far we have had 4 hatch with more to come! What a great lesson, and cute little chicks!

What impact are we having on our environment? Our 7th graders got to see first hand what we are doing to the Earth! The entire 7th grade class went on a field trip to the Rogers State University Nature Reserve to see human impact on the environment, how it is studied, and what we can do to help slow the effects of it.

Is your student interested in the Robotics class at WRJH? Here's a brief description of what they do! If interested, there is a link at the bottom of the page to apply.
COURSE DESCRIPTION:
The VEX Competitive Robotics program at Will Rogers Junior High is designed to provide active learning situations that help develop higher-order thinking skills through the VEX Robotics contest. Students will research the current years' game and game solutions. Then they will design, build, and program robots that will compete in the current years' game. They will also document each days activity and design decisions in an engineering notebook. Once they have finished, they will test their robot and repeat. This is a never ending process as students try to build the best robot not just in class but in the world.
REQUIREMENTS:
Students must be able to work together in teams. This is a team sport! They must not be too timid to present their ideas but they must accept and move on if their ideas are not chosen for their robot. They must be able to accept failure as a learning opportunity. They must not be quitters, at times it will be difficult but with continued effort they will push through and find success. Students must also be able to spend time outside class. Robots can not be built in 1 hour a day.
