How do you get students excited to make graphs? 📈 You wave at cars! 🚗
Mrs. Tietz's classes made a hypothesis as to which hour would get the most car honks. Then, they went outside each hour, waved at cars to get them to honk, then graphed the results!
I wonder what hour had the most honks?

WRJH STEM students, Mrs. Rahn & Mrs Tietz attended the Women in Science Conference at the Science Museum Oklahoma in OKC where they explored STEM & Science concepts with hands on learning and spoke to different colleges & universities about the different majors they offer in STEM fields. They also participated in an interactive panel session with women who have careers in meteorology, aviation, and forensics.
It was a great day of learning!

Rock...Paper...Scissors 🥌📄✂
Mrs. Stout’s 7th grade geography students participated in a rock, paper, scissors tournament to learn about different economic systems. Students could risk their “wealth” (in Starbursts) to try and earn more. This simulates a capitalist economy in which private citizens make decisions to earn, save, or spend money with little government control.

How do students learn to work together as a team?
Students in Mrs. Newbury's class each colored a piece of a puzzle, then they had to work together to put the puzzle together. The class talked about what being a leader is, how to work together to solve problems, and that each of us bring important skills to the table.
Learning to work together as a team is an important skill for all of us!

Students learned about the perfect square roots with a game called "I Have. Who Has?" Each students has a card with their own problem and answer to someone else's problem. They have to then listen to everyone's problem to figure out which answer is theirs!
And they got to play this math game OUTSIDE!
