For PUBLIC SCHOOL PROUD week, we asked our teachers why public education is IMPORTANT to them.
Mrs. Naegele says, "I attended fourteen different schools during my childhood and moved so many times that I have lost count. Not all of my childhood was abysmal, but there were many times that we lived in houses with no running water, heat, or electricity and did not know where our next meal would come from. Thankfully, I was blessed to have public school teachers and counselors that saw beyond the dirty little transient kid, and saw me. They challenged me to dream and to be tenacious in my pursuit of my goal to become a teacher. Those teachers and counselors took an interest in me and helped me navigate the education system as well as the college admissions and financial aid process. It is because of them, that I am a teacher now. I believe EVERY child can learn to high levels and deserves the opportunity to follow their dreams. Public education opens that door for EVERY child regardless of their situation. I am beyond thankful that I was given that opportunity and it is my greatest desire that every child be afforded the same."

✨NEW TEACHER FEATURE✨
My name is Tim Gregg. I teach 6th Grade Science and I am an Assistant Coach for JH Baseball. I graduated from Elgin High School in Elgin, Oklahoma. My mother has been a Special Ed/Special Needs teacher in that district for 40 years now. After high school, I went to Oklahoma State University where I received my degree in Fisheries and Aquatics Management.
Before I became a teacher, I was a Golf Professional. I spent 5 years working in Dallas for The First Tee and at a public golf course before moving to Tulsa and working as an Assistant Golf Professional at The Golf Club of Oklahoma for 3 years. I try to play every sport available to me. I play sand volleyball, basketball, golf (I am a scratch golfer), am in a bowling league, and will be coaching baseball this spring. I also love going to the lake, swimming, kayaking, fishing, and just about anything else outdoors. I am single, never been married, and have no kids. I do have a 10 year old Boxer/Lab named Rumble.
What I like about CPS... The greatness of the staff here at the Junior High and the quality of the students has made my first year of teaching go better than I could have ever imagined. I truly feel like they have made it super easy for me to fit right in, especially with all of the adversity we have faced this year. Both the administration and my colleagues provide tremendous support each and every day that makes coming to work something I look forward to.

Treble 131, our top choir singers, had some FUN over the last month! From singing at ball games to caroling, they enjoyed it all!
They started with singing the National Anthem at the football game against Pryor and singing the National Anthem at a basketball game. Then, it was to Claremont Elementary to do some caroling and ended with "ringing the bell" for the Salvation Army!
What a busy, but FUN month!
