The elves have left the building! Mrs. Hammack's class elves, Jolly Jerry and Jingle Bella, have embarked on their journey, hopping aboard one of our town's many trains to make their way back to the North Pole. They'll be lending a hand to Santa as he prepares for the busiest time of the year. Thanks for all the fun, elves! See you next year!

🎅🎄 It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas at Will Rogers Junior High! 🎄🎅 As part of our 12 Days of Christmas celebration, the theme for day 2 was festive attire, and our students and staff really outdid themselves with their holiday spirit! 🎄

Our students took on an electrifying challenge in Mrs. Simmonds' class today: lighting a lightbulb using only basic supplies and their very own homemade wire! It was amazing to see their creativity and teamwork as they collaborated to bring light to the darkness. This hands-on activity gave them a real-world understanding of how electricity works and the power of innovation.

Some of our Choir students and Mrs. Ketterling spent the evening bringing holiday cheer to all of those at Chick Fil A! They sang carols and got everyone into the holiday spirit!

Want to learn about compounds and mixtures in a fun and creative way? Students used simple materials like paperclips and beads to make their own! By connecting the paperclips and adding different colored beads, they explored how elements combine to create compounds and how mixtures can be separated. It's an engaging hands-on activity that brings chemistry to life! #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Mrs. Hammack's class elves, Jolly Jerry and Jingle Bella, are back and they’re up to their old tricks again! 🎄🤭 They must have been running a bit behind schedule this year because they made quite a mess on their way to their classroom. Sticks, grass and mess in the hallways? Sounds like these elves are up to no good with all their silliness! 😂🎅 Keep your eyes peeled for more of their mischief!

Semester tests will be Thursday, Dec. 19, and Friday, Dec. 20. Please remember for us to protect the integrity of the tests, we will not call students out of class during testing. There are 20-25 other students in each class who may need the entire hour to finish their test. We don't want interruptions to cause students to lose focus.
Thank you for your cooperation during this important time.

In Dr. Young’s class, students are spreading kindness by making ornaments out of strips of paper that have kind statements written by their classmates.
The ornaments have been used to decorate the classroom then will go home with the students for their trees and to serve as a reminder of the kindness of their classmates.
What a great way to spread joy!

Mr. Etienne's classes are exploring the wonders of electricity with a fun and hands-on activity! Using aluminum foil as wires, students are creating simple circuits to understand the flow of electricity and how it powers the devices we use every day.

Mrs. Hammack’s class embraced the holiday spirit by creating their own ugly Christmas sweaters! These cute designs featuring snow, Christmas trees, gingerbread men, and more, were easy to make using simple tutorials and items found around the classroom. It was a fun and creative way for students to celebrate the season and spread holiday cheer!

Mrs. Higgins' pre-algebra students had a blast with a fun and interactive game called Mingle. Each student had a card with half an equation and had to team up with other students to create whole equations to solve. With each new partner came a new equation, and they worked together to find the solution. It was a great way to practice math skills and collaboration all at once!
