I am Mrs. Jarrett. I love to read and hang out with my husband and dog. I also love to watch crime shows! I am from Claremore Oklahoma. I was born at the Claremore hospital, I went to Claremont Elementary, Central Upper Elementary (C.U.E. the current administration building), Will Rogers Jr High, and Claremore High School! I went to college at Rogers State University (RSU) where I obtained my associates degree in Elementary Education. I then started a teaching program on the RSU campus, however the program was through Cameron University (CU). I graduated from CU in 2018 with my bachelors in Elementary Education. I am currently a graduate student at Southern Nazarene University (SNU) pursuing a masters in Educational Leadership. I am currently in my third year of teaching.
I decided to become a teacher for two reasons:
1. I love kids. Being with kids makes everyday a good day.
2. I want to give students a positive experience where they understand mistakes are ok and necessary to succeed. I absolutely love my job!

THEIR FIGHT IS OUR FIGHT
Cancer may feel like someone else's fight if you have not experienced it in your own life. But CHS has decided THEIR FIGHT IS OUR FIGHT! Over the past four years, the ZUAC (Zebras United Against Cancer) Committee has helped raise over 9K to help our ZEBRA family members fighting this disease directly.
We have supported students & employees with Lymphoma, Prostate Cancer, Leukemia, Ewings Sarcoma, Breast Cancer, & Pancreatic Cancer in our elementary schools, our junior high, and our high school. We have experienced this disease as a family district-wide. This is why our theme this year is "THEIR FIGHT IS OUR FIGHT" because family takes care of family.
Although all our clubs contribute to the fundraising, the ZUAC t-shirt sales are the largest part of our efforts. We hope you will be a part of showing our #CPSZEBRPRIDE and giving hope to our ZEBRA family members.

Claremore Zebras are #PUBLICSCHOOLPROUD!
We are the 🩺💝 heartbeat of the community. In public schools, all children come first, all students have value, leadership matters, it preserves democracy, and changes lives.
Our staff and parents use words like excellence, family, teachers who care, everyone, diversity, academics, athletics, extracurricular opportunities, whole child, educational options, innovation, accountability, social connection, etc., to describe their #CPSZEBRAPRIDE.
Give us a 🏫 in the comments if you are a product of the public school. Feeling the love - feel free to share why you are #PublicSchoolProud of Claremore on our FB page.

Teachers are doing a great job coming up with different ways to keep students engaged this year! Mrs. Newbury's class did a virtual escape room! Students had to try to be the first to escape the room - on their laptop. 💻

Paraprofessionals, also called teacher assistants, provide all types of support to our teachers and students. From working one-on-one with a student to working with an entire class, we couldn't do it without them!
Thank you, paraprofessionals! We appreciate you!

What does the school nurse do? The school nurse addresses the physical, mental, emotional, and social health needs of students and supports their achievement in the learning process. But they do so much more than this! Nurse Egleston helps in many ways, from taking temperatures to giving sight tests, she is always here for our students.

Do you remember learning about fractions? Decimals? Percents? In Mrs. Bart's 6th grade math class, students are learning all about them! Students worked together in this activity to order all the percent cards from least to greatest. Next, they were given decimal and fraction cards to add to their ordering of the cards. Working together and learning together!

Safety is very important- especially in a science lab! Mrs. Tietz's class learned all about lab safety by doing a lab safety escape room. They had to pick out the safe lab practices to escape by making observations on things they could see and feel. Some of the students had to pick out the safest lab practices and others had to know what the lab safety equipment was and what it did. It was a great learning opportunity for class, and for life!

Mrs. Rahn's STEM class watched the live broadcast of the Perseverance and Ingenuity successfully land during Distance Learning! It was so exciting! Students had a lot of great questions and they had wonderful discussions about why NASA is landing a rover on Mars. We hope this experience inspires them and ignites their curiosity!
