Catalayah Elementary

Mrs. Coffey is teaching her students about Zentangles. Zentangles are miniature pieces of unplanned, abstract, black and white art created through a very specific Method from an ensemble of simple, structured patterns called tangles on a 3.5-inch square paper tile. Zentangles are not only exquisitely beautiful, they are fun and relaxing to create. These look beautiful in the halls at Catalayah!!! #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Fall Picture Retakes will be October 25th. I have a list of students that we not at school on picture day. Those students will need to take their picture on retake day. If your student was here but you want retakes, please notify your childs teacher or the office. #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Our Kindergarten classes took the cutest field trip earlier this week. They visited Dusty’s in Adair!! This place had EVERYTHING plus it was a beautiful day! #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Mr. Elliott’s 4th grade Science classes made some really cool salt dough fossils!!! They were able to make any type of fossil they wanted. After Mr. Elliott took them home and baked them he put them in sand and let the kids dig up the fossils they made!! How fun!! #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Claremore Fire Department came for our Fire Safety Day!!!! They talked to us about fire safety, having a meeting place in case there ever is a fire and also showed us what Firemen look like in their uniform so we won’t be scared of them. They brought the safety house for us to go through and we also got to look at the inside of a fire truck!!!! Mrs. Storjohann’s class delivered them Thank You cards before they left. Thank you Claremore Fire Dept for teaching us all about Fire Safety! #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Mrs. Douthitt’s class learned all about apples this week and made apple 🍎 graphs #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Pre-k has been learning all about apples. They have tasted yellow, green and red apples, apple pie, apple sauce, apple chips, apple juice, apple straws, and freeze dried apples. Our students have been working hard on their cutting skills and graphing their favorite apple foods. They even counted and graphed the different colors of apples. 🍏🍎 #CPSZEBRAPRIDE
