It’s National Library Week!!!!
What are some favorite books at your house??
#CPSZEBRAPRIDE

📚 THANK YOUR LIBRARIAN TODAY 📚
“A library is a good place to go when you feel unhappy, for there, in a book, you may find encouragement and comfort. A library is a good place to go when you feel bewildered or undecided, for there, in a book, you may have your question answered. Books are good company, in sad times and happy times, for books are people - people who have managed to stay alive by hiding between the covers of a book." [Letters of Note; Troy (MI, USA) Public Library, 1971]
― E.B. White
It's National Library Workers Day and we can't think of any better way to celebrate than to visit your school librarian and check out a book. I know they will have a recommendation for whatever you want to feel between the pages of a good book.
THANK YOU!!!

WIN TIME!!!
During win time students get a chance to work on what they need extra help with!!
This time is such a great addition to our schedule.
#CPSZEBRAPRIDE

We have babies!!!
Mrs. Wallis is teaching her 2nd grade class about he life cycle of a chicken. They learned that it takes 21 days for the egg to hatch and that the chicks have a special beak at birth called an "egg tooth" to help them break out of their shell.
The class not only learned about the life cycle but also about the anatomy of the egg and a hen. They got to witness the egg cracking and the baby chicks being born! They learned about the incubator and the process of hatching the chicks as well as what it takes to care for the chicks after they are born.

Earlier this week our Kindergarten classes were able to attend the Stephen Fite concert at the PAC.
Stephen Fite is an award-winning children's musician/writer who creates funtastic music for the classroom. Stephen Fite has been performing for children in a concert setting since 1985.
Our kids were able to ride the bus (some of them have never been on a bus before!) to the PAC, enjoy the concert and then spend some time at the park enjoying the beautiful weather while having a picnic!!!
It was such a fun day!!

5th graders were learning about how humans impact our environment with our actions. (using fossil fuels, building/using land, types of pollution, wasting water, not recycling, etc.) During a recent distance learning day the students created posters showing one human activity with a negative environmental impact, and how they could reduce that impact with their actions. For example, turning off the water while brushing your teeth instead of leaving it running the whole time.

Have you ever wondered how to catch a leprechaun??? Some second graders are here to help! They wrote us instructions on how to catch them!!
#CPSZEBRAPRIDE

It looks like they didn’t get the leprechauns trapped before they made a mess of the classroom. It’s a good think they are trapped now and we can carry on with normal class on Monday!!
The leprechaun did leave them behind a cute snack!!
#CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Mrs. Roller’s first grade class wrote stories about their leprechauns!!
#CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Lenny the Leprechaun made his way down to Mrs. Casey’s class! He’s enjoyed spending time in their class and the kids enjoyed teaching him all about 2nd grade!🍀
