Hey Zebras!

Claremore Public Schools is participating in a nationwide research initiative focused on public confidence in K-12 education. As part of the initiative, community members and parents are invited to take a brief, anonymous survey and share their perspectives on public education and our local schools.

The survey takes just 5 to 8 minutes and is open through November 8th.

Today was an unforgettable adventure for our Roosa kindergarten and first-grade students as they took a lively walk to the PAC to immerse themselves in the vibrant world of the Buffalo Dancers! The atmosphere was buzzing with excitement as students watched the spectacular performance, learning about the rich cultural traditions behind the dance. But the fun didn’t stop there—some of our lucky students had the incredible opportunity to join in the friendship circle dance! What a wonderful way to celebrate culture and community together!

Claremore Public Schools wants to partner with parents and guardians to accomplish our District goals for ALL students: to raise student achievement, close the achievement gap, provide educational equity, and ensure a safe educational environment.

One way we do this is through parent-teacher conferences. Although you can request a conference at any time, the district schedules four evening dates each year for conferences.

October 8th is the first opportunity for conferences across the District.

"Parent Teacher Conferences"
📚 Your Partnership Matters - October 8, 2026

Your child’s education is a team effort, and you are an important part of that team.

At Claremore Public Schools, we aim to partner with parents and guardians to raise student achievement, close achievement gaps, provide educational equity, and ensure a safe educational environment for every student.

One of the best opportunities to strengthen that partnership is through Parent-Teacher Conferences for PreK-8th grade families.

Conferences aren’t just for when there is a concern. They are an opportunity to:

❤️ Celebrate your child’s growth and successes
📚 Understand what your child is learning and where they may need support
🎯 Discuss academic goals and expectations
💬 Ask questions and share information that can help your child’s teacher better support them
🤝 Make sure home and school are working together toward the same goal: your child’s success

You can request a conference with your child’s teacher at any time throughout the year, but CPS also schedules four evenings specifically for conferences.

📅 Conferences are by appointment with your child’s teacher(s).

🔗 Appointment links are LIVE and will be shared by each teacher through Rooms. Families may also contact their child’s teacher(s) directly or visit:
https://www.myconferencetime.com/info/

Whether your child is thriving, struggling, or somewhere in between, the conversation matters.

We know schedules are busy, but a few minutes together can help build a stronger connection between home and school and keep your child moving forward. ❤️🦓

In honor of the Labor Day holiday, CPS will be closed on Monday, September 7th, 2026.

"Before the reward, there must be labor. You plant before you harvest. You sow in tears before you reap joy." Ralph Ransom

Labor Day pays tribute to the contributions and achievements of American workers. The labor movement created it in the late 19th century, and it became a federal holiday in 1894.

School Times Changing in 2026-27

Beginning with the 2026-2027 school year, all public schools in Oklahoma must adjust daily school schedules. This change is the result of a new law passed during the 2026 legislative session, Senate Bill 1481, which requires all students in grades kindergarten through fifth grade to receive 40 minutes of recess each day. Under the law, part of this recess time does not count toward the state's required instructional minutes, meaning schools must extend the day by 20 minutes to maintain learning time.

After evaluating several options, the district determined that adding 20 minutes to each school day best preserves instructional time, avoids adding days to the calendar, and minimizes disruption to family schedules.

We recognize that even small changes to the school day can affect family routines. By adding 10 minutes at the beginning and end of the day, the district can comply with the new state law while minimizing the impact on students, families, and staff. Thank you for your flexibility and continued support as Claremore Public Schools implements this statewide requirement. The table below shows updated start and end times for each school. If you have questions, contact your child's school office.

These changes will take effect on the first day of school, August 20, 2026, pending approval from the Board of Education during our regularly scheduled meeting on August 10, 2026. We wanted to provide you with as much advance notice as possible.

For the 2026-2027 school year,

  • PreK AM students may enter the building at 7:15 a.m., with classes beginning at 7:40 a.m. and dismissing at 10:30 a.m.

  • PreK PM classes begin at 12:05 p.m. and end at 3:05 p.m. On Fridays, they will begin at 11:50 a.m. and dismiss at 2:10 p.m.

  • Kindergarten through 5th grade may enter at 7:15 a.m., with the school day running from 7:40 a.m. to 3:05 p.m. Monday through Thursday and dismissing at 2:10 p.m. on Fridays.

  • Grades 6-8 may enter the building at 7:50 a.m., begin at 8:05 a.m., and dismiss at 3:45 p.m. Monday through Thursday, with Friday dismissal at 2:50 p.m.

  • Grades 9-12 may enter the building at 7:50 a.m., with classes beginning at 8:05 a.m. and ending at 3:45 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 2:50 p.m. on Fridays.
