Parents: This week, check in with your student about what they have learned over the last few weeks through Kids Heart Challenge. Did they accept a challenge to move more, be kind, or be prepared? How is that going? What can you do to model the way for your student?
THANK YOU!!

Throughout the 5th grade hot air balloon project, students were learning the science behind hot air balloons. Warmer air rises in cooler air; more specifically, hot air is lighter (and less dense) than cold air because hot air has less mass per unit volume. They were also learning that all matter takes up space, even if the matter is too small to be seen with their eyes.

4th grade was given "Play Money" and the task to make a volcano with supplies they bought from the class Store Mart. The students had to prove their math to include addition and subtraction for their purchases and change given. Then they put the information into the class register. They then created their volcanoes using the supplies bought. Using baking soda and vinegar they watched their volcanoes erupt! They wrote a narrative about the results. #CPSZEBRAPRIDE
