Exact numbers from the carnival are still being tallied, but to say it was a success would be the understatement of the century! Chance win winners were announced, and we hope they're all enoying their prizes. . . but now, for the sales winners!! If you'll remember, in the beginning, we said that THEE top seller of the whole thing would win a trip on a private plane to the HUGE McD's in Vinita...well, we had to change it a little: These to sales superstars earned within $40 dollars of each other and we felt sharing the grand prize was totally the right thing to do. Zebra Stripes Summer Camp The Zebra Stripes Summer Day Care Program is held during the summer season. Our program focuses on providing exceptional care for kindergarten through fifth grade. After having to share our school nurse with other buildings in years past, we've been so blessed to have Nurse Bre join us this year AND get to be on site all day long! From helping scratchy throats and playground injuries, to upset tummies and to teaching kids how to stay healthy, Nurse Bre's days stay busy for sure! She may have just become part of the Roosa crew this school year, but she has jumped right into the thick of it, and students and staff alike have made no secret about how much we adore Nurse Bre! Check out these creative kindergarteners! Mrs. Riggs' class just finished a unit on collages featuring Eric Carle. They had so much fun testing out different modalities such as cars, forks, combs, and sponges to paint. After they painted their papers they cut them into small pieces, and glued them down to create some colorful & clever collage art pictures! What amazing artists! Claremore Public Schools is pleased to announce that CPD has completed its search and has been given the all-clear to resume normal activities. Although there will be no classes this afternoon, CHS athletic practices, games, and the senior awards assembly will proceed as scheduled later today. How many ways are there to come to the same answer? Mrs. A's super scholars found that when it comes to the order in which you perform the operation, there are TONS of ways to get to the same conclusion! Each student was given a kit containg different numbers, parentheses, and smattering of plus, minus, divide by, and times symbols with the goal of putting them in the right positions to make one correct equation. It didn't take long before they realized that each kit had the number 21and THAT must be the end goal! If you haven't heard yet, our 4th grade Lacrosse team is pretty epic! With the end of the year fast approaching, students are anxiously awaiting the newest Roosa yearbook, but have found more treasures than expected by looking through some that came out before they were even born! Some students found aunts and uncles back in their Roosa days. Others oohed and ahhed over pictures of their favorite teachers through the years. Fifth grade teacher, Mrs. Daniel, caught a glimpse of her other half, long before they walked down the aisle, while Mrs. Hostler found her now adult daughter way back in kindergarten. A few kiddos found their own teacher, Mrs. LaValley, and learned that "even SHE went to PreK!?"
