4th grade students got busy learning about Nonfiction Text Structures. Common nonfiction text structures include cause-and-effect, sequence, compare-and-contrast, and description. Students summarized the text and made it into a book. #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Mrs. Greggs’ 1st graders made a Plant Book. Students found a plant that they wanted to research and read all about it. They drew the plant, labeled all the parts and wrote facts about it. Great way to plant 🌱 a seed of learning!

3rd grade took a field trip to the Splash Pad and splashed! Be sure to take time this summer and make a memory. 3rd grade knows how to enjoy the outdoors and time with friends.

What is WIN Time? WIN stands for What I Need and at Roosa part of the day is reserved for WIN Time. During this time small groups focus on learning customized to the needs of the individual student. These students were caught getting exactly what they need during WIN Time which is a WIN for everyone!

What Do Fourth Graders Learn? In 4th grade, students will learn to use research tools to write reports. They will learn to use addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. They even start to explore simple geometry. They will read and create their own charts, graphs, and tables. Fun times in 4th grade!

Roosa 5th grade students have been sharing their love for reading at Roosa. They started by making a list of questions to ask a reading buddy in order to help getting to know their buddy better. After a short visit the 5th graders read a book to their new Reading Buddy. Way to go 5th grade!
