Enrollment for the 2023-2024 school year is now open! All families must complete enrollment every year. Enrollment may be completed entirely online, and we recommend using a desktop or laptop computer to enroll. If you do not have access to a computer, or if you need enrollment assistance, the CPS Enrollment Center has computers and scanners available and will be happy to help. They are open daily from 8a - 4p (arrive by 3:30p). 1st grade won the 💰💲 COIN WAR 💰💲 and they had an epic water balloon battle against their teachers! The School Resource officer helped out the 1st graders as they hurled water balloons at their teachers. Although students outnumbered the teachers, the overcast day was filled with laughter. Thanks to the PTO for this wonderful fundraising challenge! #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Bippity, Boppity, Boo!! Second Grade did a unit over Fairy Tales! 👑 This magical unit took students to faraway lands, with princes and princesses, heroes and villains, good vs. evil, and much, much more. Throughout this unit, Second Grade read a variety of fairy tales from around the world. At the conclusion of the unit, the students performed in our annual Fairy Tale Ball. 👑 #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

We need donations. Roosa needs canned soda donations for our Roosa Carnival. Please donate Coke, Coke Zero, Dr Pepper, Diet Dr Pepper or Sprite to the office by the morning of Friday, May 12 (We need time to put them in the coolers) Thank you in advance for the donations. The Roosa Carnival is this Friday, May 12 from 5 to 7:30pm. Lots of games including Bounce Houses, a Dunk Tank, a Silent Auction and Concessions. The winners from the Silent Auction and Chance to Win will be announced from 7 - 7:30pm. In order to play games students need a wristband. Today we celebrate School Lunch Hero Day! This is a chance for us to showcase our wonderful cafeteria workers and the difference they make for every child who comes through the cafeteria. 5th graders have been gearing up for State Testing and they took some time to play BINGO with test taking strategies. Mrs. Armbrister is a 1st grade teacher at Roosa Elementary and she wrote a DonorsChoose grant a few weeks ago. DonorsChoose is a nonprofit organization that allows people to donate to classroom projects. Excellent news… Mrs. Armbrister’s list was FULLY FUNDED! Her class received new books, STEM activities, and a new clock set! She is very appreciative to all the generous donors. Her students were excited to see all the new items for their classroom! #CPSZEBRAPRIDE
