Mrs. Mann’s 2nd grade class researched an animal. They wrote a rough draft, finalized it to perfection. Then added illustrations and their class book was published!! The hard work that goes into writing this book is amazing but the pride in reading it is unmeasurable!! #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

1st grade finished the Unit on Love Monster. Rachel Bright wrote the book series Love Monster. This book is about a hairy monster searching for love. 1st grade read a different Love Monster book each day. Everyday had fun activities too, including Valentine Bingo, a Writing Activity, decorated love monster cookies and decorated a love monster bag. Hearts of love for Love Monster were all around the classroom! #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Ain't No Party Like A CPSF Party!!!
The 2022 Gatsby Brainiac Brawl wouldn't have been a huge success without the hard work of the CPSF Board of Trustees. We are so thankful for this group of volunteers that share their talents and treasures to fulfill the mission of enriching the quality of education in the Claremore Public Schools.

A Distance Learning Day means that teachers teach from a variety of different platforms. Here at Roosa teachers were in Google classrooms, recording a lesson and preparing for the next assignments. During a Distance Learning day teachers will post assignments in Google Classroom. Packets are also available. #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Mrs. Best’s Pre K class has been working on letter recognition. The students are also working on sign language with their letters. Today they are learning the letter K. #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

2nd grade celebrated Stuart Roosa Day with a writing activity. Students wrote about the fun adventures they would have if they were an Astronaut. They included capital letters at the beginning of the sentences and ended with proper pronunciation. #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Roosa students created space themed art in honor of Stuart Roosa Day, January 31. First through fifth graders used crayons, oil pastels and watercolors to implement a wax resist with their art. Kindergarten used Jackson Pollock style splatter painting for the background of their space shuttles and finished up by using their fine motor skills to cut out stars and their space shuttle before they attached it to their painted paper. #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Mrs. Hostler, Reading Interventionist & ELL Instructor, I attended Southern Nazarene University. This is my 18th year at Roosa. I am married to Wes Hostler and we are celebrating our 29th wedding anniversary in February. We have two children.
I love teaching kids who struggle with reading and figuring out how to help them learn. I love watching them succeed and feel joy when they finally “get it!”
One of my favorite quotes is “Spread love everywhere you go. Let no one ever come to you without leaving happier.” by Mother Teresa

The Claremore High School and Will Rogers Junior High TSA stopped by Roosa. They lead the 5th grade in a STEM project. The students were separated into groups of two. Each group made a bridge that had to be able to hold weight. However, the groups were given only popsicle sticks, masking tape, and a bowl. #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Roosa Elementary celebrated the 100th Day of School today! Staff and students dressed up as if they were 100 years old! Learning today included doing activities by the 100’s! 100 licks of a lollipop, 100 stacking cups, art made with groups of 100’s, snacks and treats to spell out the number 100!
