The Claremore Public School (CPS) District joins school districts throughout Oklahoma to celebrate School Board Recognition Month, Superintendent Bryan Frazier announced.
"Our school board members are volunteers who shoulder critical responsibilities and often make difficult choices for our District, all without pay. Their goal focuses on the future success of the children in our District," Superintendent Frazier said. "Celebrating School Board Recognition Month is one way to say thanks for all they do."

Snag Golf is a golf program created by two golf pros. It introduces golf to elementary aged kids using a Driver, Putter and Math Skills. Students are required to get different amounts of strokes using different putters at each station. This is possible thanks to the Claremore Public Schools Foundation for purchasing these supplies. Roosa and Miss Johnson thanks the Foundations for their generously. National Cuddle Up Day falls on January 6 for a very important reason. Since January has some of the coldest temperatures of the year, it’s a great excuse to warm up by cuddling! Mrs. Kropp and her class celebrated by cuddling up with a book, blanket and hot cocoa. https://nationaltoday.com/national-cuddle-up-day/

Mrs. Howard’s class participated in the monthly Devon Thunder Explorer activity, designed to promote STEM concepts through activities. Last month, Mrs. Howard did “If the Shoe Fits” activity with her 4th grade students. Students were to trace, draw and label each part of the foot. Then create a shoe with different materials. 👞👟🥿 Mrs. Howard only had only cardboard, hot glue, tape, felt, yarn and paint to create their shoes. Her students went to work! Mrs. Howard received a call today that they won $500 to be spent in the classroom! Way to go Roosa 4th grade!!! A picture is worth a thousand words. We hear it all the time. It can be especially helpful when communicating in our digital world to show a picture of something rather than typing it out. Or, maybe there is a certain point to be made by saving a portion of what is on the computer screen. Using the Windows Snip & Sketch application will help accomplish that.
This #TechTipTuesday will demonstrate the many ways Microsoft’s Snip & Sketch can be used to capture images of what is on a computer screen and shared, posted, or saved for later reference.

Good afternoon, these past few weeks have been an excellent respite for our Zebra families, but we are now ready to embrace the educational opportunities 2021 will bring. Tomorrow, Jan. 4th, classes will resume at their regularly scheduled time at all our sites.
We will continue to implement our COVID protocols: wear a mask, watch our social distancing, and frequently wash hands . Please come prepared with the mask that was provided at the beginning of the year or a personal one.
As we continue to mitigate the COVID-19 virus, we ask you, please stay home and contact your principal immediately if you have any of the following within the last week:
1. have been in direct contact with a COVID case,
2. had a positive test within the 10 days
3. are waiting on the results of a COVID test, or
4. are showing any symptoms.
We look forward to the lightbulb moments, personal growth, and all our Zebras filling up the halls with the laughter, chatter, and smiles they bring with them.

Mrs. Riggs's Kindergarten class drew pictures on dry erase boards at Center Time. They could not mask their excitement! 😷 #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Staff Shout Out to Mrs. Rumsey, Kindergarten Teacher - Teaching is my calling. Working with children to instill a love of learning and teaching them to be kind is a ministry for me. I went to school in Claremore and had fabulous teachers that spoke into my life and I wanted to give back to a community that has been so good to me. #ROOSASTAFFSPOTLIGHT #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Can a virtual classroom have a class party? YES! Mrs. Smith's virtual class held their class party last week. The students each received a Party in a Bag with various items including Snow Soup - Hot chocolate and marshmallows. ❆☕ The bags were delivered to the students a few days before the party. A Google Meet was scheduled and everyone opened their bags at the same time. Parents had the hot water ready for the Snow Soup and students enjoyed the time together. #CPSZEBRAPRIDE
