#ROOSASTAFFSPOTLIGHT Mrs. LaShell Page, 1st Grade Teacher - I have been teaching for ten years and the last two at Roosa. I enjoy my career so much that I furthered my education with an Early Childhood certification. I wouldn't change it for one second, because I love my classroom and my babies! #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

On February 20th, pet lovers everywhere observe National Love Your Pet Day. This holiday focuses on giving extra attention to our pets. #ROOSASTAFFSPOTLIGHT Mrs. Hendrickson I've been been at Roosa for 9 years. I love that I get to spend my days with such stellar kids and out of this world teachers always looking to keep things exciting! My husband and I have a 7th and a 10th grader, and as a Claremore graduate myself, I'm even happier to be raising Zebras! #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Mrs. Mann's class worked on a Flat Stanley Project while on Virtual Learning. #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Mrs. Best Pre K class gets busy on these Virtual Learning days. Kora gets busy working on her W. While Keegan and Amelia using their distant learning book to practice their shapes and numbers. And Brantley working on his alphabet with his cousin Kylie. Good Job Pre K!

Meanwhile in Mrs. Devers 2nd grade class, after reviewing the week's assignments the class joined in a meeting and did a "Book Show and Tell." The students showed off a favorite book from their home and told the reason why it was their favorite. They discussed different types of books, book series and reading books in in digital form. Be sure to continue to check Google Classroom everyday when on Distant Learning. #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

#ROOSASTAFFSPOTLIGHT - Mrs. Boydston - I have enjoyed the opportunity to be a part of this amazing Roosa family now for eight years. It really touches my heart when I see one of my students catch onto a new lesson and able to excel. My hope is for all my students to be the best they can be and make a difference in this world. #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

We've got another winter weather challenge for our Zebra families. Let's make some Ice Marbles.
Put a few drops of food coloring or Kool-aid powder into a balloon then fill with water. Place outside and let it freeze. Depending on how big the balloons are and how cold it is, this will take about 24 hours. Hold them up to the light to see if they are frozen all the way through.
Join Finley, Alayna & Brecken from Westside and submit your photos in the comments of the CPS FB page.

Roosa Staff Spotlight - Miss Bart - This is my second year teaching. I graduated from NSU and currently working on my Masters in Instructional Leadership. I have a German Shepherd puppy named Murphy. It is an honor to teach in the same building where my education began and work alongside some of my former teachers. #ROOSAELEMENTARY #ROOSASTAFFSPOTLIGHT #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

For all you "planners" out there... the CPS Academic Calendar for 2021-22 has been approved by the Board of Education. It goes without saying, but just in case, this is official unless we have any unforeseen situations come up in the future.

2nd Grade made binary bracelets in computers this week. They used binary code and their initials to create a bracelet that just so happened to also be Valentine's Day colors! Happy Valentine's Day #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Mrs. Brasher's 3rd Grade class meet today to learn about idioms.
The class can now say that "Having Cold Feet" during this winter weather will not "Stir Up A Hornet's Nest" in their learning about idioms. Because idioms are a "Piece of Cake" #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Roosa first grade made 100th Day Trail Mix snack on Virtual Learning today. Their assignment was to find 10 random items in their pantry, grab 10 of each item while counting by 10. A fun way to count to 100 by 10! #CPSZEBRAPRIDE
