Westside Pumpkin Contest has come to and end and here are the winners! Each grade has a chosen winner and an overall winner was also chosen. 🏆🎖️ There were SO many amazing pieces of pumpkin art. Mark your calendars, you won't want to miss this incredible performance! This coming Monday, November 11th at 7pm , Westside Elementary 3rd graders will be presenting a Veterans Day Program at the Robson Performing Arts Center. 🇺🇸🇺🇸 Students need to arrive by 6:15 and wear Red, White or Blue.

Zebra Family, The safety of our students and staff is our top priority. Please be assured that CPS is closely monitoring the weather forecast. All sites have reviewed our safety protocols. We understand that parents/guardians may want to pick up their children through the proper channels. If you choose to do so, this will be an excused absence. However, we do not want to send children home without supervision; therefore, our buses will not run early. If the weather changes and we must delay the buses, we will notify you as soon as possible through the CPS Mobile App and the Stopfinder App.

& that's a wrap on Red Ribbon Week 2024! 🔴 We ended with a bang and dressed up in our Zebra gear (or red) and celebrated being drug free! Westside brought it with the dress up days this week and we're loving it! ❤🦓

Westside had some very special visitors this week! Claremore Fire Department visited us and shared about Fire Safety, and what to do in the event of a fire. 🔥🚒👩‍🚒👨‍🚒 Students from Pre-K to 5th got to go through a pretend scenario in an inflatable house with the firefighters and even got to escape out of the window. After that, they moved on to see a firetruck and all of the things that are stored inside and used. 🚒 A heartfelt THANK YOU to Claremore Fire Department for showing up and teaching Westside students fire safety! 👨‍🚒💪

Happy Halloween from our Westie family! 🎃🫏🎃 Kids (and adults) throughout the school brought their best costumes and dressed up for the day! 👻 🖍️ 👸 🧟‍♀️ 🥷 🦖 Tomorrow will be Spirit day! Wear your Zebra spirit gear or wear red! 🫏♥️

Mrs. Ramsey's 5th graders are practicing multiplication of single, double, and triple digits by playing WAR! First one to multiply the answer correctly gets the other persons cards and the winner is the one who takes all the cards! 🃏🃏

Westside and BancFirst, one of our Partners in Education, have teamed up to recognize a staff member each month. These staff members are voted on by all staff members throughout the school, and include Instructional Assistants, front office staff, lunch staff, and custodians. October's pick is Mrs. Paula Kurth! 🌟🌟🌟 Mrs. Kurth is the first smiling face many parents and students see first thing every day, and we are so thankful to have her on our Westside Team! ❤🦓❤

Mrs. Barbee's kindergarteners have been studying BATS! Students created bat hats, had Count Chocula snacks, and had fun in a bat themed sensory bin. 🦇🦇🦇🦇 Way to engage your class, Mrs. Barbee!

Lunch with Levesque! At Westside, students who exemplify good behavior, do the right thing , and follow procedures earn Zebra Bucks. These can be saved and cashed in for prizes, privileges and more. These students earned lunch with Mr. Levesque by cashing in their Zebra Bucks.! 🦓💵

The 37th Annual Rotary Chili Supper benefitting the Claremore Public Schools Foundation is Friday, November 1st from 5-7 pm (or until we sell out) at the football stadium. 7 tickets can be purchased at the gate and will include chili, Fritos, water, and a Chick-fil-A cookie! Mrs. T's GT class, 3rd-5th graders, had "Potato Olympics" and each student created an athlete profile for each one. 🥔🏅🥔 🏅

Our first quarter winner for the QT gift card is Aiden Bettinger! Way to go, Aiden! 🥳🎊💪 There will be another drawing for the second quarter, and if your student has 2 or less unexcused absences, they will have a chance to win.

Parents and guardians: Your students fundraiser items will arrive tomorrow, Friday 10/25. Please make plans to come pick up these items during the hours of 2:00pm-5:30pm. Many of these orders contain perishable and/or frozen items, so they will not be able to be kept after this time. Our wonderful Westside PTO will be here to assist and make this a smooth and quick process.

Snack cart is available this coming Friday! Your child's teacher should send a menu home Thursday with the items and prices! food

Red Ribbon Week is next week, October 28th- November 1st! 📆 Red Ribbon Week highlights the importance of living a drug-free life and Westside makes it fun by having a dress up week! 💚🎃 Make sure to save this photo and start planning those outfits! Remember, no masks or fake blood with Halloween costumes.
