Recess is a time for students to take a break, socialize & express themselves.
This 3rd grader spent her recess crocheting 🧶 little miss craft-master at work! She even spent some time teaching other students how to crochet.

The Zebra Stripes Program is an after-school program held during both the school year and the summer season. Our program’s focus is on providing exceptional care for children in kindergarten through fifth grade. The program will offer age-appropriate activities that provide children with opportunities for social, emotional, and physical development.

Students in Ms. Barlow's class worked together in small groups to create an anchor chart about common and proper nouns & then presented them to the class.
It was a fun, hands on activity that gave students an opportunity to tap into their strengths, whether it was artistic skill, leadership or public speaking. 💪 🗣

At the Family Fun Night silent auction, Hunter won lunch with Mrs. Ratcliff! He chose Chick-Fil-A & got to eat with our beloved VP. 🥗

Westside students are pushing through State Testing & our incredible PTO put together snack boxes and water for each individual testing class! 📝
Ms Wood's class is reading Rosie Revere Engineer this week and studying 3-d shapes.
They did a marshmallow stem challenge where students were challenged to build structures to hold a peep. They used their knowledge of shapes and were all little engineers!
Mrs. Collins' class took part in a STEM challenge where they constructed 3D shapes and competed to build the tallest tower. They used toothpicks and marshmallows!

Sentence revision, analogies, conjunctions & pronouns working on daily language review in Mrs. Sagely’s 4th grade class!
They spiral their review daily building on existing knowledge!
Our 1st grade wing has some sweet sounds happening! Each class has been doing a lesson on life-cycles, and included in that lesson is hatching eggs! 🥚 🔄
Quail & chicks, 1st grade is learning how they develop and grow as well as what they need to survive. 🐣
The rainy weather brought some big ole crawdads to the Westside playground! Some of our curious minds got to check them out. 🌧️
Mrs. Cummings first graders are using their spelling words to create sentences. As the we're building the sentences, they wrote "My child broke my back!"
One student responded: “When everyone wrote that sentence, we died of laughter!”
