In Dr. Peter’s class, we celebrated Homecoming Friday with popcorn while watching the movie versions of the stories we've been reading in class. Once the movie is over, students will get to practice their essay writing by comparing the film and the printed stories. Fun and learning all in one day!

In Mrs. Newbury’s science classes, students got hands-on with air pressure by using a vacuum to suck the air out of a trash bag wrapped around one of their classmates! They’re discovering how gases and fluids change with temperature and pressure—and seeing how volume plays a big role. Science you can actually feel—how cool is that?!

To celebrate fall (and food!), our teachers and staff brought in their favorite dishes to share — with plenty of them bubbling away in crock pots! From hearty chili to creamy mac & cheese and everything in between, it was a delicious way to connect and enjoy a yummy lunch. 🧡

Of course, we couldn’t keep all the goodness to ourselves — here are some of the yummy recipes our team brought to the table! 👇 (Feel free to steal a few ideas for your next potluck!)

In Mrs. Peters’ class, good behavior means BIG rewards! She plays Behavior Bingo, and every time the students “behave,” they snag a square. Get a BINGO? Boom — it’s TREAT TIME! Her awesome 2nd-hour crew hit the jackpot and devoured a breakfast feast fit for champs: pancakes, bacon, OJ, milk, and chocolate milk — the whole works! Keep shining, superstar students! 🌟

🏈FOOTBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK🏈

Each week, we’re proud to recognize student-athletes who go above and beyond on the field and show great sportsmanship, effort, and team spirit.

This week’s standout players are...

👏 Logan Vigueras – 7th Grade - " He turned in one of the best rushing performances of the season, cruising past the 100-yard mark with ease behind a dominant offensive line. His vision, effort, and toughness helped set the tone for the offense and powered the team to a strong performance"
👏 The Entire Team – 8th Grade – "Last night marked the 8th grade’s first win since their 6th-grade season, and it was a total team effort! There were standout moments all over the field—Lyric Watkins made an incredible one-handed touchdown catch, Chevy Moore recorded a tackle for loss that resulted in a safety, and Boston Cape and Christian Lona led a dominant rushing attack behind a fantastic offensive line. To top it off, Gixxer McClain sealed the game with a clutch interception.
This week, it wouldn’t be right to single out just one player—the entire 8th grade football team earned Player of the Week honors for their effort, teamwork, and determination! "

Way to go, players! Your hard work, dedication, and team-first attitude make us proud!

Think you can outsmart George Washington? Coach Dexter's 8th grade U.S. History students just took on the challenge of building a fort stronger than Fort Necessity!

Their mission: create a fort tough enough to hold a water bottle.

The outcome? Tons of creativity, teamwork, and history brought to life right in the classroom!

🏈FOOTBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK🏈

Each week, we’re proud to recognize student-athletes who go above and beyond on the field and show great sportsmanship, effort, and team spirit.

This week’s standout players are...

👏 Dexter Williams – 7th Grade - "He has been a key contributor on both sides of the ball for the 7th-grade team. He’s the kind of player who does whatever is asked of him. On offense, Dexter has lined up at fullback, running back, and tight end—no job is too small for him. Defensively, he’s the heartbeat of the unit, leading the way at inside linebacker and even stepping up to play defensive tackle. His effort paid off in Thursday’s win against the Cardinals, where he made a crucial stop on fourth down to help secure the victory. "
👏 Jakob Snider Frazier – 8th Grade – "He was an absolute force for the 8th-grade team. Late in the second quarter, he delivered one of the best hits we’ve seen all season, helping secure a crucial goal-line stop. Jakob was a monster all night, making multiple tackles and setting the tone with his physical, hard-hitting play. "

Way to go, players! Your hard work, dedication, and team-first attitude make us proud!
