Exciting updates from Mrs. Boyd's class! Our students are exploring the world of rocks and gaining valuable knowledge about the Rock Cycle, types of rocks, and how to identify them using a dichotomous key. A huge thank you to OERB for providing us with essential kits and Professional Development. We can't wait to discover more about Earth's geology together! 🌍

Students in Mrs. Baughman's classes are working on a project that brings history to life! They are creating life-size portraits of the Founding Fathers and will present 15 fascinating facts and 8 significant symbols that highlight the importance of these historical figures in shaping our nation. 🏛️
This hands-on approach not only helps students develop their creativity and research skills, but also gives them a better understanding and appreciation for those who helped lay the foundation of our country!

Zebra Family, The safety of our students and staff is our top priority. Please be assured that CPS is closely monitoring the weather forecast. All sites have reviewed our safety protocols.
We understand that parents/guardians may want to pick up their children through the proper channels. If you choose to do so, this will be an excused absence.
However, we do not want to send children home without supervision; therefore, our buses will not run early. If the weather changes and we must delay the buses, we will notify you as soon as possible through the CPS Mobile App and the Stopfinder App.

Mr. Wadsworth's classes are kicking off a new unit all about cultures 🌏. To start, students have formed groups and shared their own unique family holiday traditions 🎁🎄. Then, each student will select a culture from around the world to research and put together a trifold poster 📋. We can't wait to see the final products and celebrate the beauty of different cultures! Stay tuned for the next project!

Mrs. Newbury's science class just wrapped up our unit on waves, and it's been a total eye-opener! 👁 Students learned how visible light creates the colors we see, but did you know there's a whole world of unseen waves out there? To get a better understanding, students took a closer look at the inner workings of the human eye, discovering how it detects different wavelengths and transforms them into the vibrant hues we see!

Mrs. Hughes' class just dived into the thrilling world of 'The Most Dangerous Game' with a short story reading. To test the students' knowledge and understanding, they played a board game based on the story's key elements. What a fun way to review!

Mrs. Newbury's high school physical science class is diving deep into the world of waves and colors! Today, we used finger lasers to explore the different wavelengths of light and how they interact to create a rainbow of colors. It's amazing to see science in action!

In a creative twist on the classic "Simon Says" game, Ms. Reyes' class took it to the floor—literally!
Using a large map as their game board, students played a version of Simon Says that not only tested their listening skills but also their geographical knowledge.
Who knew learning could be this fun? Way to go, Ms. Reyes' class! And a special thank you to the Oklahoma Alliance for Geographic Education who graciously lent us their traveling giant map of South America! Students spotted many cities, landforms, and even found exact coordinates of places.
