For Math Awareness Month, Mr. Borntreger's 8th grade pre-algebra classes practiced their expression skills in a fun way...by solving a murder! Students were given values for multiple variables and were tasked with "plugging in" the values to evaluate 12 clues. Practicing math and developing strong sleuthing techniques...you may be looking at future detectives!🕵🏼♀️

If you need to pick up your child during school, and they are in an active testing session, they will need to finish that session. If a student leaves mid-session, the test becomes invalid. Our staff dressed up for Underground Spirit Week! Underground Spirit Week is a fun little concept where the teachers and staff participate in a themed dress-up week without telling the students about it beforehand. So the students are left to figure out what's going on and why all the adults are dressed up in weird outfits. It's a bit like a secret party that's happening right under the students' noses! We had so much fun!

For Math Awareness Month, Ms. Phariss' pre-algebra class decided to not waste a beautiful day and GO OUTSIDE and enjoy the sunshine!☀ After preparing and reviewing for a big test, students needed a break - and luckily it was 75 degrees and sunny!

We BATTLED at Battle of the Brains and came out WINNERS! 🥇
Our Academic Team did it again! They spent the day at Battle of the Brains competing with multiple other schools. We finished with a 3rd place in Language Arts and 4th in Science, a 1st in math AND science. And 6th social studies. And the best part... a BRAUMS treat on the way home!🍦

After creating their own scenarios and using problem solving skills, Mr. Borntreger's Algebra 1 classes were ready to present them to the class. They created posters and slides to use to present their inequalities. What a great life learning lesson - to speak in a public setting!

Our newly organized clothing closet and food pantry are looking awesome! WRJH counselors are dedicated to providing essential resources for our students, and the food pantry and clothing closet are a great help. The food pantry will ensure that no child goes hungry while they're at school, offering a variety of nutritious options. We believe that access to proper clothing and food should never be a barrier to learning. Our goal is to create a supportive environment where students can thrive.

Ms. Prine's students had spring fever on a beautiful, sunny day and decided to go outside to do their reading! Sunshine and literature make a perfect pair!

Shout out to Mr. Borntreger's Algebra I class for demonstrating exceptional problem-solving skills and creativity! The students applied high-level math to real-life situations by creating their own scenarios and solving two-step compound inequalities. By tackling these inequalities, they were able to determine the minimum and maximum numbers necessary for achieving specific goals and targets.
