Mrs. Breen's art classes began a BIG project this past year. They painted one of the cut-through hallways in the 6th grade wing. After several months of drawing, painting and working very hard, it looks AMAZING! Check out the before and after pics! We want them to paint all the bare walls now! Our next class pet is Edison! 🐢 Edison lives in Mrs. Simmonds' class and has a very special bond with all her students. They take him outside to get sunshine and they bring him lettuce to snack on. He's even been known to walk the halls in the 6th grade wing when he sneaks out of his class! #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

What do we do during the summer months with no students? We make WRJH look its best, thanks to our maintenance crew! They are removing the old desks in the science labs and putting in new tables! They are also fixing all the breaks/holes/tears in the building. We are so grateful they are getting the building ready for another school year! #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Our next Motivational Monday highlights Mr. Worthington. Mr. Worthington is our assistant principal. What motivates him to be the best principal he can be is that he finds motivation in making a meaningful difference in the lives of the students and community they serve. The next pet in our weekly class pet series is an axolotl named Piers. 🦎 An axolotl, also known as the Mexican walking fish, is an amphibian that's native to the waters near Mexico City. Students not only get to see an awesome pet, they get to learn all about it! #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

It's almost here- is your student ready? All incoming 7th grade students MUST have their tDap vaccination💉to begin school. During this school break, our administrators were asked what motivates them every day as a school principal. Today, Mrs. Luginbill, our assistant principal, tells us what motivates her to do the job. 🐢🦎🐠 Introducing our Class Pet Parade! Each week, we'll be featuring a different class pet to show you the unique and wonderful ways these pets contributed to our classrooms. From turtles and lizards to fish and more, our class pets bring joy, learning opportunities, and a sense of responsibility to our students. Students in Mrs. Higgins' classes had a fun and engaging activity in school where students got to ask their classmates statistical questions, analyze the data, and present their findings. 🔍 They learned how to calculate central tendencies like mean, median, mode, and range. 🧮 Then, they made creative posters to display their data and findings. 🖼️ This project helped the students develop their analytical skills, and they had a lot of fun too! #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Our amazing WRJH choir shined at the Heartland Music Festival, taking home top honors for their stunning performances. The Mixed Choir, Treble Choir, and Show Choir all received Sweepstakes Trophies, and we couldn't be prouder! After their fantastic performances, the choir celebrated their achievements with a day of fun and excitement at Frontier City Amusement Park. It was a well-deserved break after their hard work and dedication. Congratulations to our talented choir students, and a big thank you to our dedicated choir teacher, Mrs. Ketterling, for making this wonderful experience possible! #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Our school's got talent, and we're not afraid to show it off! 🌟 The talent show this year was a total hit, with performances ranging from singing 🎤 and killer dance moves 🕺💃 to hilarious skits 🎭.
