There are so many exciting things to learn in Science, but before we can get hands on, students have to understand how to participate in the labs without hurting themselves or their friends. Fifth graders went through an interactive safety course to learn the proper science lab procedures and are ready to get down to business - Safely!!

Roosa was visited by some of Claremore's bravest last week! Claremore Fire Department came over to talk to students about how important it is to be prepared in case of a fire! They toured the fire safety house and learned how to be safe inside, discussed why meeting places are so necessary, then got to "escape" out the window to safety! Some stepped, some flipped, some even flopped, but EVERYONE learned a lot and had a great time doing so! Thanks for coming, CFD, and stay safe out there! #firesafety #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Staff Shoutouts!! As much as we love our Spreading Smiles awards, we love to extend the same recognition when we see our co-workers going that extra mile! I mean, cheering each other to success doesn't stop when we graduate! A colleague says, "Mrs. Hostler has gone above and beyond helping my class (and many others) with testing. . . and she did it all with. positive attitude and a smile on her face." Another says of Mrs. Rippy, "From the very beginning, she jumped in, worked hard, and excelled and everything with a sense of joy for teaching. She spent personal time this summer working on the entrance to the school and creating a beautiful mural and making an inviting atmosphere for all our kids. Wowza! What a game, what a game!! Fall weather showed up in time for our friday night lights, and our Roosa PTO brought the fun for the family with their own Friday Night Lights! Games, candy, smiles, AND the chance to win Squishmallows all while supporting Roosa?! Sign me up! Thanks PTO for organizing and putting it on with such pizazz! Thank you to all who donated candy! And thank you to everyone that came out to have some fun!

🍁🍂🎃 In the blink of an eye, we've tumbled into October! PTO has a lot of fun stuff lined up for us this month and would love to see your faces! ⭐️ our FNL carnival & Fall Festival are 2 separate events. FNL is happening at Lantow stadium during the football game against Pryor, 10/6. Fall Fest is our annual event at Roosa, 10/27. ⭐️ We will need volunteers for our Fall Festival if you would like to help, please reach out to me. Please let me know if you have any questions.

The Claremore Indian Education Committee(IEC) will have a special meeting on Tuesday, October 10, 2023, from 6-6:30 p.m. at the Enrollment Center at 101 West 11th. The meeting will be held to hold the JOM Annual Election. To serve on the JOM IEC, a person must be the parent or guardian of a JOM-verified child. School board members or spouses, school administrators or spouses, and school employees or spouses can not serve on the committee. Any parent, community member, or other interested may attend the meeting. CPS will be closed on Monday, September 4th, in honor of the Labor Day holiday. ‼ REMINDER - EARLY RELEASE = PLC MEETINGS FOR TEACHERS 📅 Begins August 25th Dismissal 🕑Elementary- 2:00p 🕝Secondary - 2:30p Early release for our kids means meeting time for our teachers. This time is excellent for lesson planning, district meetings, and sharing ideas with our teacher friends across the district. Professional learning communities (PLCs) are a collaborative approach to professional development. Small groups of educators meet regularly to explore new concepts, share expertise and insights from their teaching experiences, and engage in collective problem-solving. We are lucky we have this time and the technology to meet with teachers from all over the district to maximize our time together. #CPSZEBRAPRIDE
