Bring it to your holiday gathering, corporate party, or home for dinner. This month, Chick-fil-A will donate $2 to the Claremore Public School Foundation. Last year, they donated $1,500 to CPSF. This year’s goal is to donate to fund class and teacher grants district-wide.

Roosa's Native American Club has been working on projects involving the Three Sisters Garden. Some of these projects include watercolor painting, corn husk dolls, and Indian corn. The Three Sisters Garden was a staple in Native American culture. It included corn, beans, and squash.

Mrs. Mann's second-grade class met with their fifth-grade buddies to learn about germs. The fifth-graders taught the second-graders all about germs and how to classify them. Then the students got to make and classify their own germs.

Roosa has kicked off our Canned Green Beans and Canned Corn Drive! We are partnering with Share the Spirit, which assembles food baskets for Rogers County.
The collection of cans will start on Monday, November 17th, and will end on Thursday, December 11th. Winners will be announced on Friday, December 12th, during Rise and Shine.
The top grade levels that collect the most cans will be recognized in two categories: Pre-K through 2nd grade and 3rd through 5th grade. The winning grade levels will receive a Hot Cocoa Party!
If Roosa meets the school-wide goal of collecting 1,700 cans, the entire school will enjoy a Popcorn Party!

Rise and Shine was presented today by Mrs. Bland's third-grade class. They sang Oklahoma in honor of Oklahoma's birthday on November 16. We also received some excellent extracurricular awards this week!

Roosa has just kicked off our new attendance initiative, NBA (Never Been Absent)! On the 1st of every month, I will post Roosa's NBA Draft Picks, which are the lists of all the students & staff who did not miss a single day of school the previous month! Did you know that just missing 10% of the time (that’s 1-2 absences every few weeks) in the younger elementary grades has been shown to have a long-term impact on students' reading performance and social skills? If there is an obstacle your family is experiencing in getting your student to school, please reach out to Mrs. Kerr.
