There have been a few occasions in recent years that these students have visited the halls of Roosa Elementary, but for many of them, this was their first time since 2017 that they've stepped foot in the building.
They walked the halls with confidence and style, giving high fives and hugs along the way, and several even left valuable life lessons for current Roosa kiddos (spoiler alert: eating all of your veggies, drinking your milk, and trying something new you never thought you'd like are the keys to success).
Tonight at 7:30, we get to see them and their classmates walk the big stage at Lantow Field and congratulate them as they move to the next leg of their journeys! Congratulations, class of 2024!

Zebra Stripes Summer Camp The Zebra Stripes Summer Day Care Program is held during the summer season. Our program focuses on providing exceptional care for kindergarten through fifth grade. From helping scratchy throats and playground injuries, to upset tummies and to teaching kids how to stay healthy, Nurse Bre's days stay busy for sure! She may have just become part of the Roosa crew this school year, but she has jumped right into the thick of it, and students and staff alike have made no secret about how much we adore Nurse Bre! Check out these creative kindergarteners! Mrs. Riggs' class just finished a unit on collages featuring Eric Carle. They had so much fun testing out different modalities such as cars, forks, combs, and sponges to paint. After they painted their papers they cut them into small pieces, and glued them down to create some colorful & clever collage art pictures! What amazing artists!

Although there will be no classes this afternoon, CHS athletic practices, games, and the senior awards assembly will proceed as scheduled later today. How many ways are there to come to the same answer? Mrs. A's super scholars found that when it comes to the order in which you perform the operation, there are TONS of ways to get to the same conclusion!
Each student was given a kit containg different numbers, parentheses, and smattering of plus, minus, divide by, and times symbols with the goal of putting them in the right positions to make one correct equation. It didn't take long before they realized that each kit had the number 21and THAT must be the end goal!
Way to work it, 5th grade, and thanks for making PEMDAS so much fun, Ms. A!!

If you haven't heard yet, our 4th grade Lacrosse team is pretty epic! Fiercely competitive, and seriously skilled, you don't want to miss seeing them play - Mrs. Robinson and Mrs. Brasfield got the chance to go cheer on the team today, and Mrs. Robinson was even able to snag a picture with our Roosa athletes! 🤩
We've said it before, and we'll say it again - once a Roosa kid, always a roosa kid, inside the classroom and out!
