Our District Clothing Closet is in need of donations! We gladly accept donations of any and all gently used clothing and shoes. The highest need is clothing for big kids: sizes 12-20 and adult sizes too. Shoes sizes adult 6-9. Clothing of any size with a stretchy waistband is always greatly appreciated. We are always in need of socks and underwear (especially sizes 4 and 6 on underwear). Donations can be left at the Roosa front office. Thank you in advance!

Cambrie from Mrs. Riggs’ Kindergarten class won “Be the Principal for the Day'' at the Roosa Carnival Silent Auction. Miss Cambrie and Mrs. Willard started the day off right with a coffee. As the day went on they did principal things such as deliver a Volunteer Appreciation gift to Ms. Jo, hand out starbucks to students being good and hold the door open for students. They even had time for lunch with Coach Johnson and her P.E. teachers of the day. Life as a principal is hard work!

May is Better Hearing and Speech Month. During the month of May we raise awareness about hearing and speech problems. We also encourage people to think about their own hearing and get their hearing checked. At Roosa Mrs. Rogers is our Speech-Language Pathologist. She assesses and treats students who have speech, language, voice and fluency disorders. She also educates their families about the causes, effects and treatments. Thank you Mrs. Rogers for all you do to make Roosa GRAND!

Enrollment for the 2023-2024 school year is now open!
All families must complete enrollment every year. Enrollment may be completed entirely online, and we recommend using a desktop or laptop computer to enroll. If you do not have access to a computer, or if you need enrollment assistance, the CPS Enrollment Center has computers and scanners available and will be happy to help. They are open daily from 8a - 4p (arrive by 3:30p).

1st grade won the 💰💲 COIN WAR 💰💲 and they had an epic water balloon battle against their teachers! The School Resource officer helped out the 1st graders as they hurled water balloons at their teachers. Although students outnumbered the teachers, the overcast day was filled with laughter. Thanks to the PTO for this wonderful fundraising challenge!

Bippity, Boppity, Boo!! Second Grade did a unit over Fairy Tales! 👑 This magical unit took students to faraway lands, with princes and princesses, heroes and villains, good vs. evil, and much, much more. Throughout this unit, Second Grade read a variety of fairy tales from around the world. At the conclusion of the unit, the students performed in our annual Fairy Tale Ball. 👑

We need donations. Roosa needs canned soda donations for our Roosa Carnival. Please donate Coke, Coke Zero, Dr Pepper, Diet Dr Pepper or Sprite to the office by the morning of Friday, May 12 (We need time to put them in the coolers) Thank you in advance for the donations.
The Roosa Carnival is this Friday, May 12 from 5 to 7:30pm. Lots of games including Bounce Houses, a Dunk Tank, a Silent Auction and Concessions. The winners from the Silent Auction and Chance to Win will be announced from 7 - 7:30pm.
In order to play games students need a wristband. The Pre-Sale for Wristbands is going on NOW for $10 each ($12 at the carnival)
