Enrollment for the 2023-2024 school year is now open! All families must complete enrollment every year. Enrollment may be completed entirely online, and we recommend using a desktop or laptop computer to enroll. If you do not have access to a computer, or if you need enrollment assistance, the CPS Enrollment Center has computers and scanners available and will be happy to help. They are open daily from 8a - 4p (arrive by 3:30p). Today we celebrate School Lunch Hero Day! This is a chance for us to showcase our wonderful cafeteria workers and the difference they make for every child who comes through the cafeteria. 5th graders have been gearing up for State Testing and they took some time to play BINGO with test taking strategies. Mrs. Armbrister is a 1st grade teacher at Roosa Elementary and she wrote a DonorsChoose grant a few weeks ago. DonorsChoose is a nonprofit organization that allows people to donate to classroom projects. Excellent news… Mrs. Armbrister’s list was FULLY FUNDED! Her class received new books, STEM activities, and a new clock set! She is very appreciative to all the generous donors. Her students were excited to see all the new items for their classroom! #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Top ticket sales from last week got to spin the Wheel of WOW at Rise and Shine! Upper Elementary had a tie! Arianah from Mrs. Kropp’s class and Izayah from Mrs. Bacon’s class Lower Elementary Jace from Mrs. Rippy’s class Arianah from Mrs. Kropp’s class spun and won a Mystery Snack Bag! She will get favorite snacks delivered by Mrs. Willard! Izayah from Mrs. Bacon’s class spun and won Willard Meals on Wheels. Jace from Mrs. Rippy’s class spun and won a popcorn party for his class! Weekend Challenge for 4/29-30 is…. The most ticket sales will be kicking the teachers out of the Teachers Lounge!” The winner and three friends will have pizza in the Teachers Lounge! The winner will also receive a spa day. Our overall goal is $12,000 for Mrs. Willard and Coach Johnson will spend the night on the roof of Roosa Elementary and our current total is $9,552. Our Annual Roosa Carnival is right around the corner! May 12 from 5 to 7:30pm. Lots of games including Bounce Houses, a Dunk Tank, a Silent Auction and Concessions. Mrs. Heath shared her Cinderella collection with Mrs. LaValleys 2nd grade class. She brought in old Cinderella books, antique Cinderella memorabilia, and even a hand painted Cinderella glasses case from a trip she took with her husband to Russia! 2nd grade has been learning about Fairy Tales in preparation for the Fairy Tale Ball which will take place Friday, April 28, 2023. #CPSZEBRAPRIDE
