In Mrs. Page’s 1st grade class, the Mystery Science lesson, was all about Optical illusions. Optical illusions teach us how our eyes 👀 and brain🧠 work together to see. Students had the task to create their own optical illusions and the results were 👀👀👀 eye-catching! #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Mrs. Rippy’s Kindergarten class has been working on journal writings. They started off writing one sentence and have progressed to writing three sentences! They are using proper spacing and punctuation. Journal writing helps students use their fine motor skills, phonological awareness, phonics and being able to express themselves. #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Mrs. Willard had a trivia contest with the teachers today. She asked three questions from three different movies about teachers. The winners got a Dutch Bros coffee! Although many tried, the winners were... Mrs. Mowery, Mrs. Henry and Mrs. Hostler the winners! #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Mrs. LaValley’s nd grade class spent the week learning about 2-D shapes. They took their knowledge and created those shapes using pretzels and marshmallows. Students had to label the sides, angles, and draw their shape on their paper. #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Roosa Elementary has been a Great Expectations Model School for 21 years. As a GE Model school, Roosa Elementary has a culture of respect and high academic achievement. An assembly was held and Sue Early from Great Expectations stopped by and awarded Roosa Elementary with a certification of Recognition for Model School status. At the assembly students recited poems and songs for parents and the administration. Way to go Zebras! #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Enrollment for the 2023-2024 school year is now open! All families must complete enrollment every year. Enrollment may be completed entirely online, and we recommend using a desktop or laptop computer to enroll. If you do not have access to a computer, or if you need enrollment assistance, the CPS Enrollment Center has computers and scanners available and will be happy to help. They are open daily from 8a - 4p (arrive by 3:30p). You are now able to enroll your current students for the 2023-2024 school year by accessing the student records portal through this link https://ok.wengage.com/claremore. The Will Rogers Memorial had a paper airplane contest. Students made an airplane and competed to see who could fly it the farthest. Our very own Gabriella won 2nd place! Way to soar high and far over Spring Break! #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

The Oklahoma Caring Van will provide FREE immunizations for children at the Claremore enrollment center March 21st & 23rd from 10a - 12p. A parent/guardian must complete the required paperwork. Services will be provided to children who are uninsured, Medicaid eligible, or American Indian. #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Coach Johnson has been doing a Kids Heart Challenge with students. Students spent two weeks learning jumpking skills and jumping rope activities such as Jake the Snake and Jump The River. The most important part of these activities is that Coach Johnson taught the students all about the heart, what it looks like and how it works. Mrs. Mann’s 2nd grade class took graphing to a whole new rainbow level! Students used the colors of the rainbow and graphed with Skittles. Graphing is used in math and illustrates data. Fun with graphs in 2nd grade! #CPSZEBRAPRIDE
