Happy New Year from Claremore Public Schools. As we enter into a new year, we all seem to take time to reflect on our lives, habits, choices from the past and contemplate how they impact our future. This reflection can lead to new inspiration, goals, resolutions, or a new focus. Instead of adding to it, some consideration may lead to removing obstacles or habits from our lives. Either way, we are all looking for a positive change.
Whether you choose a resolution, a goal, a word - we'd love for you to share it with us on our FB page and maybe inspire others.
Remember: Our students return on Tuesday, January 4th.

Claremore Public Schools is now live with the new electronic flyer communication tool called “Peachjar.” To view school-approved eflyers, simply click the Peachjar button on your school’s website homepage or mobile app.
This “green” initiative will save our schools tons of paper and reduce copy costs by thousands of dollars. On top of that, posting school flyers in this electronic backpack reduces clutter and will help parents keep track of school events.

Mrs. LaValley 2nd grade teacher #ROOSASTAFFSPOTLIGHT I graduated from Claremore High School in 2016 and attended Northeastern State University for Undergrad and Graduate school. I will graduate with a Master's in School Administration in May of 2022!!! I have been married for one year and have a sweet dog named Reese.
I have taught at Roosa for 2 years. I attended Roosa as an elementary student so being back at my homeschool is so special to me!
I chose to teach because I love learning and I hope to instill that same love in children.
I love teaching because it is never the same on any given day. I once had a professor tell me "no two children learn the same way on the same day" and it has proven to be true. Teaching is much like putting a puzzle together. Once you find the right pieces and materials that match your class, the rest just falls into place.
My favorite quote is: "The future belongs to those that believe in the beauty of their dreams." -Eleanor Roosevelt

1st grade enjoyed a gingerbread man unit where they spent two weeks reading and comparing different gingerbread stories from the Gingerbread Cowboy to the Gingerbread Ninja. The week ended with a special treat of gingerbread man snacks. They read their final book Gingerbread Man Loose in the School by Laura Murray and when they went back to the classroom their snacks were gone! The class discovered that their gingerbread man snacks had run away in the school!
Students passed out wanted posters and went on a scavenger hunt to recover the missing snacks. When the students went back to class they found the gingerbread man snacks back in the classroom! They ate them quickly this time before they ran away again! #CPSZEBRAPRIDE
