Mrs. Willard, Roosa Principal, has been celebrating the 12 days of Christmas with the Roosa staff. Today’s surprise goes with a quote from a famous movie…. “You smell like Beef and Cheese, you’re not the real Santa.” said Buddy the Elf. #ROOSASTAFFSPOTLIGHT Mr. Peters Music Teacher at Roosa Elementary. I went to Wagoner High School, Northeastern State University for my Undergrad and Valdosta State University for my Masters Degree. I have been at Roosa for four years. I have been married for three years and have a dog and two cats. I wanted to teach because I wanted to make a difference for my community and those around me. I enjoy getting to show students what I find amazing about music. My family and the various teachers have been the inspiration in my life. My favorite quote is “I haven’t understood a bar of music in my life, but I have felt it.” -- Igor Stravinsky. #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Roosa PTO is currently hosting the Annual Santa Shop. This is an opportunity for the students to purchase a wrapped gift that is ready to stick under the tree! Each gift is priced from $1 to $5. Upcoming shopping days are as follows:
Wed, Dec 8 - 2nd & 4th grade
Thur, Dec 9 - AM Pre K & 3rd Grade
Fri, Dec 10 - Last chance day
The Santa Shop is not a fundraiser, it is a community service the PTO provides for the students to be able to shop for their family. Neely Insurance gave money for every student at Roosa to spend $1 at the Santa Shop. Reasor's provided bags for the students to put their gifts in. Very generous parents have donated too. Over 20 PTO parents wrapped all the gifts. The students have loved shopping for their family and it’s a special treat.

The 4th grade students became familiar with the difference between a Singular and Possessive noun.
If the noun is singular, add an apostrophe S. Example: The school’s playground was freshly mowed.
If the noun is plural and ends in S, just add an apostrophe. Example: The students’ desks were cleaned this morning.

Lea Brewer, Roosa Speech Pathologist, I earned my Bachelors Degree at NSU Tahlequah and Masters at the University of Tulsa. I have been at Roosa for two years. I chose this profession because I wanted to help children find a voice and improve their life. I enjoy the ability to have a work life balance. The inspiration in my life has been my 7th grade reading teacher who introduced me to different genres and that reading could be fun. My favorite quote is: “When you come to the end of all the light you know, and it’s time to step into the darkness of the unknown, faith is knowing that one of two things shall happen: Either you will be given something solid to stand on or you will be taught to fly.” Edward Teller #ROOSASTAFFSPOTLIGHT #CPSZEBRAPRIDE
