Cindy Boman #ROOSASTAFFSPOTLIGHT 3rd Grade Teacher. I have 3 children and one absolutely adorable grandson who just turned 1! I graduated from Owasso High School. I received my B.S.Ed in Early Childhood Education from NSU Tahlequah; and I received my M.Ed in Early Childhood Ed from NSU Broken Arrow. This is my 23rd year in education, but my 1st year at Roosa Elementary and my first year working in the Claremore Public School system. I always knew I wanted to be a teacher! I had an amazing 1st grade teacher, Mrs. Jackson, and I wanted to be a teacher just like her. The part of teaching I enjoy the most is making connections with my students. I am a 'people person' so I enjoy building relationships with my students. One of the most influential people in my life was my grandmother - Meme Smith. She was the epitome of everything good and right.....kindness, gentleness, honesty, integrity, patience, self control and compassion. #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Mrs. Rippy's Kindergarten class demonstrated TEAMWORK by building a block tower. They also modeled #GEEXPECTATIONS number 5 We will help one another whenever possible. Way to go Mrs. Rippy's class! #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Remember the card game 🐠 🐠Go Fish? In 1st grade some of the students took time to play Go Fish with their Sight Words. Building reading and recognition skills with smiles and laughter! #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Roosa Faculty Homecoming - All former staff & teachers join current faculty to connect the past to the present - September 30, 2021 from 4:00pm to 5:30pm at Roosa Elementary in the new cafeteria. #ROOSAELEMENTARY #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

#ROOSASTAFFSPOTLIGHT Dr. Barbara Crisp - I attended Broken Arrow High School, and 5 colleges: RSU - Associate Degree, NSU - Bachelor Degree, Kaplan University - Master's Degree, Grand Canyon University - Doctoral Degree, Southern Nazarene University - Postdoctoral Studies (because I never stop learning). This is my 1st year at Roosa, I teach 5th grade.
I enjoy when a struggling learner identifies "YES, he or she can!" when paired with a caring, student-centered, instructional facilitator who refuses to let a learner give up or not try.
I have three grown children, two of which are educators, and one who took her dad's route in business. I also have two amazing grandchildren.
My husband is truly my inspiration to reach for the stars, never give up on my dreams, and always live my life through the eyes of God, rather than my own.

Courtney McCann #ROOSASTAFFSPOTLIGHT School-Based Social Services Specialist, I attended Northeastern State University. I enjoy being a social worker because I love to help families. Wednesday Walking PALs is a "walking school bus" and we invite your Roosa student to participate. Much like you would drop your student off at the bus stop, in this case you would drop him or her off at the designated meeting spot. And they walk with other students and adult PAL mentors a few blocks to school.
The meeting place is the east end of the St Cecilia Catholic Church parking lot on Sioux street. The groups meet at 7:15 am on Wednesday mornings and begin walking by 7:25 which gets the kids to school in time for breakfast. To enroll your student for the Fall session which begins September 8th, please pick up a form in the school office. #CPSZEBRAPRIDE
