For 100 years, the AAA School Safety Patrol Program has served schools throughout the United States. During that time, countless schoolchildren and advisors have devoted themselves to safety in and around their school. This centennial year of School Safety Patrol was celebrated at Roosa by flying the Safety Patrol flag. AAA School Safety patrollers have gone on to serve as astronauts, scientists, teachers, doctors, professional athletes, Supreme Court justices, Olympians, governors and President of the United States. The Roosa safety patrol consists of 5th grade students who write an essay telling how they are responsible and why they would be a good example for Roosa students. #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Mrs. Motter’s 2nd Grade WIN group played Math Jeopardy to review Math Place Value. #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

I graduated from Chelsea High School and received my bachelor's degree from the University of Central Oklahoma. I'm in my 6th year at Roosa teaching computer science to kindergarten through 5th grade. I love teaching kids more about the "how" and "why" of technology and computers. I chose to be a teacher because I love learning and being around kids and seeing their personalities develop. I have two children, both who attend Claremore Public Schools. My daughter is in 8th grade at WRJH, and my son is a 4th grader at Roosa. Working with the incredible staff at Roosa inspires me daily! My favorite quote right now: "You are never too old to set another goal or to dream a new dream." -C.S. Lewis #ROOSASTAFFSPOTLIGHT #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Mrs. Brasher’s 3rd grade class turned their fall party into a Candy Corn STEM Activity. They flipped for it and towered to success. #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

A few weeks ago 1st grade asked the question, will Pumpkin Jack sink or float? They discussed the hypothesis and created an experiment to prove it to be true or false. Update on “Pumpkin Jack” - 1st grade learned about the greenhouse effect as Pumpkin Jack is decomposing quicker than normal because of the trap tip and moisture inside. We are not seeing the growth of mold. Students use a magnifying glass for a closer look. #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Last week Mrs. Rumsey's Kindergarten class celebrated the 50th day of school! They celebrated by counting everything to 50! Happy 50th Day of School! #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

The Pumpkin Elf visited Kindergarten last week and played a few tricks but then left some fun treats for the kids! They enjoyed an afternoon of learning activities with the theme of Orange. #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Students today use technology more than ever. 5th grade decided to take a step away from technology and look at the latest news printed in the local newspapers. Students learned real quick the first lesson of the newspaper… how to fold it. (Newspapers provided courtesy of Claremore Daily Progress, thank you) #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

In Art Class the 4th graders were learning about the Brazilian artist Romero Britto. They used patterns with warm and cool colors. #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

How many seeds are in a pumpkin? Mrs. Rumsey’s Kindergarten class estimated then counted how many seeds were in their pumpkins. #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Mrs. Mann's class wrapped up our owl unit by dissecting owl pellets! The students had a lot of fun learning about the different types of owls, their habitats, eating habits, and migration. Then, with the help of science we discovered what the inside of an owl pellet looked like and the possible diet from various owl pellets. Who, Who would of thought Owl Pellets were so interesting? #CPSZEBRAPRIDE
