CPS District Teacher of the Year - Bruce Riggs, named Claremore Area Chamber of Commerce "Educator of the Year" 

Claremore High School proudly announces that our very own Mr. Bruce Riggs has been selected as the Claremore Area Chamber of Commerce "Educator of the Year!" 

Bruce Riggs, a Biomedical Science teacher at Claremore High School and 2022-2023 CPS District Teacher of the Year, brings a wealth of experience and expertise to his role. With a distinguished career in the United States Air Force, followed by over 20 years in the medical field, including receiving the Malcom Baldrige Award, Mr. Riggs deeply understands the industry. 

Mr. Riggs creates engaging learning experiences in his classroom, incorporating project-based learning and real-world problems to spark his students' curiosity. His inclusive approach ensures that all students benefit from his broad array of knowledge and experiences regardless of their career aspirations. He prioritizes building strong relationships with his students, using trust and encouragement to motivate them towards excellence. 

Mr. Riggs' dedication to teaching extends beyond the classroom, as evidenced by his authorship of six books, curriculum development, and teaching at various universities. His impact on Claremore High School's culture is profound, embodying qualities of integrity, reliability, leadership, and humility. Mr. Riggs is a true example of excellence in teaching, elevating everyone around him and positively influencing his students' trajectories.
