At Tulsa Regional STEM Alliance’s (TRSA) prestigious Flight Night celebration, five outstanding educators from across Oklahoma were recognized for their innovation and impact in STEM education. Among them, Claremore’s own Vona Cardwell took center stage as she was named the 2025 Siegfried STEM Educator of the Year, the top honor across all grade levels.
Mrs. Cardwell, who teaches STEM at Claremont and Roosa Elementary Schools, first received recognition earlier this year as the Elementary Division Winner for this highly competitive award. Her passion and creativity in the classroom earned her a spot among Oklahoma’s finest educators, culminating in the moment she was announced as the overall winner during September’s Flight Night event. It was a truly unforgettable milestone in her career.
To celebrate her accomplishment, Mrs. Cardwell was presented with a $10,000 award to further enhance her STEM instruction. This generous prize recognizes her commitment to inspiring curiosity, fostering innovation, and bringing science, technology, engineering, and math to life for Claremore’s youngest learners.
