Claremore Public Schools Celebrates National School Board Appreciation Month

As Claremore Public Schools (CPS) joins districts across Oklahoma in celebrating School Board Recognition Month, the district takes time to recognize the leadership, vision, and service of the Claremore Public Schools Board of Education. These elected citizen leaders carry one of the most important responsibilities in the community: helping ensure a strong and sustainable future for every student served by CPS.

School board service often happens behind the scenes. Board members do far more than attend meetings or cast votes. Their role includes setting a clear vision for public education, ensuring accountability to the community, and advocating for continuous improvement in student learning. This work requires significant time, careful study, thoughtful discussion, and difficult decision-making. Every decision is guided by what is best for students.

Superintendent Bryan Frazier expressed his appreciation for the board during the January Board of Education meeting:

“I am deeply grateful for our board members and their willingness to serve. They dedicate hundreds of hours navigating complex issues, making difficult decisions, and balancing their personal and professional responsibilities. Month after month, they continue to show up, driven by a shared belief in the transformative power of public education and in the potential of every child we serve at Claremore Public Schools.”

The Claremore Board of Education works as a unified team. Members come from different backgrounds and professions, but they lead with a shared focus on student success rather than individual priorities. This collective approach has helped guide progress across the district. Investments have been made in facilities, academics, fine arts, activities, student wellness, and workforce-ready programs that prepare students for life after graduation.

Superintendent Frazier also highlighted how board leadership supports both learning and school culture:

“This board has championed initiatives that strengthen learning and culture. That includes improvements in academics, athletics, fine arts, facilities, and STEM opportunities. They support focused learning environments and consistently recognize student and staff achievements. Whether attending school events, celebrating graduations, or approving forward-thinking policies, the board keeps students at the center of every decision.”

The board is also committed to continuous learning. Members participate in professional development, conferences, and training through the Oklahoma State School Boards Association. This ongoing learning helps them stay informed about school law, policy development, and educational trends. Their presence in schools and at extracurricular events reflects genuine care for students, staff, and the community.

Looking ahead, the board remains focused on a clear and purposeful vision. Priorities include continued academic improvement, responsible long-term planning, and strong partnerships with families and the community. Superintendent Frazier noted that the board’s strategic thinking shows a commitment not only to today’s students, but also to future generations of Claremore learners.

Public education is strongest when schools and communities work together. The Claremore Board of Education values family and community involvement and encourages open communication and shared responsibility. Board members remain accessible through outreach, conversation, and engagement across the district.

As School Board Recognition Month continues, Claremore Public Schools extends sincere appreciation to these dedicated leaders. Their service and commitment make a lasting difference for students and families. Because of their leadership, CPS remains a place where students are supported, challenged, and prepared to succeed.
